(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2018) Iqra Jahan; SP16-RMS-003; Dr. Muhammad Amir Rashid; LHR TP 5206
This study is conducted to analyze the impact of Job Embeddedness on Creativity, with Voice behavior as a mediator and Perceived Organizational Behavior acting as Moderator between Job Embeddedness and Voice Behavior. Hypotheses were deduced from the literature and are supported by the Conservation of Resource Theory. This research is specifically carried out to investigate the creativity which is usually demanded in the software industry. Data from 313 employees working in the software industries in Pakistan was collected. The questionnaire was uploaded to the Google survey Form and individuals were contacted on their social websites account and the link was dropped in their mailbox. Demographic variables like age, gender and qualification were treated as a controlled variable, because of their possible confounds. To check the mediation and moderation effect Linear & Multiple Regression Analysis was done by the method of (Preacher & Hayes). Results show that there is a positive and significant relationship between the observed variables and all proposed hypothesis were supported. The mediation is measured by change in the R2. Moreover, interaction plot from the values attained from Preacher and Hayes moderation test was plotted to illustrate the relationship. In this study, the theoretical and implications for management has also been conferred.

Effect of Perceived Organizational External Prestige in Employee Emotional Exhaustion: Moderated Role of Organization Communication Climate
(Library Information Services COMSATS University Islamabad Lahore Campus, 2015-02-02) Hafaza Aqifa Sana; FA13-MSMS-006; Dr. Muhammad Amir Rashid; LHR TP 4306
The thesis aims to examine the effect of employee’s perception of firm external reputation on their emotional exhaustion. Research advocates that perceived organizational external prestige has an impact on employee work attitudes and explicate that external repute of an organization makes employees to “bask in the glory of their organization” and augment their self-worth. Organization communication climate ensures employees the availability of intangible job resources and create feelings of positivity which reduces employee emotional exhaustion. The research is done on middle level employees working in dairy processing companies of Punjab, Pakistan. A sample of 202 employees is drawn from the population and the results signified that organizational identification partially mediates the relationship between perceived organizational external prestige and employee emotional exhaustion. The research also showed that organization communication climate act as a moderator as it facilitates the relationship between organizational identification and employee emotional exhaustion. The study adds to the existing body of literature as it explained the phenomena through which perceived organizational external prestige effect employee emotional exhaustion

High Performance Work Systems and Employees Pro-Change Reactions: A Social and Economic Exchange Perspective
(Library Information Services COMSATS University Islamabad Lahore Campus, 2018-01-29) Aqsa Akbar; SP12-PMS-001; Dr. Muhammad Amir Rashid; LHR TP 5916
Using Social exchange perspective, this study investigates the impact of High Performance Work Systems (HPWS) on employees‘ pro-change attitudes and behaviors (i.e., Commitment to change and behavioral support for change). It also endeavors to examine the underpinning micro-mechanisms of HPWS and employees‘ pro-change behaviors, suggesting that social & economic exchanges are the important mediating variables. Moreover, this study proposes an integrative moderated mediation model and posits that employees‘ cultural values (power distance and collectivism) moderate the aforementioned two alternative mediation mechanisms. Using random sampling technique, a sample of 591 full-time employees of largest public sector bank of Pakistan undergoing privatization are surveyed during September-December 2017. Proposed hypotheses are tested through Structural Model in AMOS. The results reveal that perceptions of social exchange partially mediate the positive relationship between HPWS –Affective CTC and HPWS-Normative CTC. On the other hand, perceptions of economic exchange fully mediate the HPWS- Continuance CTC.In addition, the relationship between HPWS-Affective CTC and HPWS-Normative CTC via social exchange is stronger for employees scoring high collectivism and low power distant orientation. Similarly, the relationship between HPWS-continuance CTC via economic exchange is stronger for employees scoring low collectivism and vice versa. However, the moderated mediated impact of power distance on HPWS-continuance CTC via economic exchange remained insignificant. In addition, the impact of CTC components on behavioral support for change is found to be statistically significant. In the end, practical and theoretical implications of HPWS- employees‘ pro-change reactions are discussed in the light ofresults.
