Similar fears had arisen in the nineteenth and twentieth century’s, when another significant wave of technological transition occurred, but they were not proven correct; technological developments of these centuries eventually led to the creation of new employment that had fully compensated for the consequences of the implementation of new job-saving technologies. In the 4th industrial revolution which began in Europe and the United States, the fear that automation and digitalization will lead to "Ending of Jobs" is reawakening. The feasibility of human element substituting "creative accident." computers and robots has been the topic of a number of reports with considerable debate.Item A project report on the Development of an online shopping store(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2020) Abdul jabbar; Fa17-BBA-107; Naila Adil; LHR TP 6647E-commerce is fast gaining a prominent position as a suitable and useful model for business enterprise. The company launched in Pakistan in 2016 and has managed to gain a lot of attraction in major cities such as Islamabad, Lahore and to Karachi. However, the company ceased its operations in 2022 and transferred its services to Careem which is one of the regional subsidiaries that continues to thrive in the market of Pakistan. The abrupt exit of Uber from high potential market raises a lot of concerns related to the local market adaptations for multinational corporations, especially those that are mainly driven by technology. Uber standardized strategy failed to account for Pakistan`s social culture, regulatory and economic dynamics. The major contributing factor that leads to a downfall of the company includes cultural mismanagement especially related to the gender norms and language barriers along with the rigid pricing model that affects the price sensitive customers. The company failed to realize the low-tech infrastructure as most of the customers are adapted to cash based payment mechanism. The regulatory framework across provinces further affects the overall sustainability of Uber. Meanwhile, their competitors integrate with the local cultural values and offer cash friendly system to the customers which helps with increasing customer trust through localized communications. This report overall compares the strategic rigidity of Uber and its failure that causes exit of the company from Pakistan.Item AQUA REGIA(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus., 2023-11-20) Muhammad Khalil; CIIT/SP20-BBA-005/LHR; Sadia UmarThis internship report would not have been possible without the perseverance, fortitude, honesty, diligence, and moral foresight that I am grateful to the Almighty for bestowing upon me. The people who helped me, either directly or indirectly, finish my internship and write this report also deserve my gratitude. I have tried to illustrate the fundamental elements that influence the decision to repurchase services from the online service sector. Some elements are later shown to be very significant for the retention of customers in the online service industry. I began by attempting to determine the topic's dependent variable, which is "repurchase intention," and then I selected "pricing," "brand experience," and "service quality" as independent factors to support this dependent variable. We have tried to ascertain the connection between these factors. "Filing bank statements, preparing bank vouchers, preparing cash vouchers, making deposits, and maintaining supplier and client ledgers" are some of the dependent and independent variables that I set out to determine. Afterward, I set out to gather information from respondents by asking them topic-specific, targeted questions. Data analysis utilizing pattern component matrices, commonalities, and factor analysis descriptions were other tasks I completed. The findings have now been made available to me.
