(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2018) Muhammad Omer Bashir; FA14-MSMS-016; Dr. Zafar-Uz-Zaman Anjum; LHR TP 4765
Organization citizenship behaviors are beneficial for organizations but have some personal cost for employees. Specifically, we argue that compulsory citizenship behavior contributes positively to employee’s strain especially with burnout. To study the buffering role of transformational leadership, we collected data from 218 teachersof Punjab Colleges in Lahore division. The results supported our research questions. Compulsory citizenship behaviors have significant positive relationship with employee’s burnout. We also found that transformational leadership buffers the relationship between compulsory citizenship behavior and employee’s burnout, such that the relationship is weaker under high level of transformational leadership.

Impact of transformational leadership style on project success: The mediating role of team-building between transformational leadership and project success
(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2018) Ayyaz Anjum; CIIT/SP14-MSPM-008/LHR; Dr. Muhammad Usman; LHR TP 4854
Impact of transformational leadership on project success has empirically approved, but how this mechanism has the influence on project success is not known well. This research thesis determines the mechanism that how transformational leadership affects the project success and how team building mediates the relationship and enhances the influence of transformational leadership on project success. This study also determines the effect of transformational leadership on team building practices. To examine the mediation of team building between transformational leadership (IV) and project success (DV), data was collected from 209 project team members of information technology (IT) and construction sector. For empirical analysis, Baron and Kenny (1986) mediation method is used with hierarchal multiple regression. The legitimacy of team building mediation is further confirmed by the Sobel’s (1982) test. The results of hierarchal multiple regression (HMR) confirms that transformational leadership (IV) positively influence project success (DV) and team building partially mediates the relationship between independent and dependent variables. Theoretical and practical effects of these outcomes are also discussed in this research thesis.

The Impact of Transformational Leadership Style on Project Success through Teamwork; The Moderating Role of Inter-Organizational Relationships
(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2020) Muhammad Fahad Mateen; CIIT/FA17-RPM-007/LHR; Dr. Ammar Abid; LHR TP 6385
In modern times, the number of projects is exponentially increasing and organizations are becoming more and more Project-oriented with every passing day. Project Success has become the ultimate target for every Organization and Project Manager. However, Project Success rates have not been as high as these organizations and managers would desire. Research is still being done to understand and identify the elements of project success and mitigate the probability of failure of projects. Till date, multiple components have been identified that influence project success including characteristics of a project manager, role of organization and inter-personal skill etc. The research is an attempt to further probe into the role of Project Manager, Project Team and Organization to understand their contribution in project success. Previous studies have proved that Teamwork and Transformational leadership have a significant impact on project success. This study extends the horizons of this relationship by including an external influencing factor i.e., Inter-organizational Relationship (IOR) to validate its influence on project success within public plus private sectors. A quantitative study was conducted considering the firms operating in Lahore, Pakistan as the subject population of the research. A sample size of 222 was considered and an approach of convenience sampling was adapted to collect data through questionnaires. Regression was applied on the primary data acquired from the respondents which proved that the Project Manager’s Transformational Leadership Style has a substantial and constructive effect on quality of teamwork, wherein teamwork acts as a mediator between project manager’s style of leadership and Project Success. Furthermore, the Inter-Organizational Relationship act as a moderator between the relationship of Project Manager’s Transformational Leadership style and Project Success. Through data collected from Project Managers of firms operating in Lahore, Pakistan, the study allows to express a bigger picture towards the role of Project Manager, Project Teams and Organization leading to Project Success. In theory, incorporation of external ix constraints like IOR and their influence on Project Success completely changes the dimensions of previous studies and articulates the fact that Projects are an open-system rather than a closed-system and should be studied as is, in order to achieve more accurate results.

The nature of this study required probability sampling in which Stratified Random Sampling was employed. The research was carried out on selected sample of 65 teams functioning in the Telecommunication Sector of Lahore (Pakistan). A 5-point Likert scale questionnaire, containing 20 items, divided into three components has been developed to measure the responses of the employees. Overall, 350 questionnaires were disseminated, out of which 325 returned back were indicating response rate of 91%. SPSS was used for analyzing data. Results of the study depicted that a significant and positive relationship exists between transformational leadership and team efficacy. Assessing the Influence of Transformational Leadership on Project Success: Role of Team Building Dimensions
(Library Informtion Services, CUI Lahore, 2017) Hafiz Fakhar Abbas; CIIT/FA13-MSPM-003/LHR; Dr. Faisal Tehseen Shah; LHR TP 4860
This study examines the impact of transformational leadership on project success in presence of team building dimensions (goal setting, interpersonal relations, role clarification and problem solving) (as mediators) in construction sector of Pakistan. If manager has the characteristics of transformational leadership can help ensure the success of the project even at a large scale. They actually inspire the followers to perform better and even beyond their expectations to foster healthy relationship. Similarly, a transformational leader may incorporate the team building dimensions in the project teams. With transformational leadership, team building dimensions also becomes the part of the team creation which ultimately impact the performance of the project team. This will help team members even in the absence of the team leader. Data collection was done using questionnaire. These questionnaires were distributed to the project managers in the construction sector of Pakistan. Findings suggest that there exists a significant relationship of transformational leadership and project success. There also exists a significant relationship between team building dimensions (goal setting, role clarification and problem solving except interpersonal relations) and project success. Future research dimensions and recommendations are also presented. K
