Item Slip Effects on Creeping Flow Through Porous Tube with Sinusoidal Reabsorption(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2019) Muhammad Sufyan Sharif; FA17-RMT-034; Dr. Muhammad Younas; LHR TP 5660In this thesis, we have investigated the creeping flow of viscous fluid through a porous tube with sinusoidal reabsorption on the wall under the effect of slip boundary condi tions. The system of non-linear partial differential equations (PDE’s) has been solved using inverse method for stream function formulation of the problem. Mathematical expressions for velocity components, volume flow rate, leakage flux, wall shear stress, pressure distribution, average pressure, mean pressure drop and fractional absorption are obtained. The analytical solutions of the governing equations are also presented graphicallyItem FOOD WASTAGE: A COMPARISON OF FOOD SERVING STYLES IN BANQUET(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2019) Hafiz Abdullah Altaf; FA17-RBA-006; Dr. Amir Riaz; LHR TP 5448Food wastage in wedding events is a social dilemma that has to be abated and scarcity of natural resources should be realized by society in order to maintain national food security. This project was designed to study the issues of information asymmetry and speculation that have inflated this crisis and made it difficult for the middle class of Pakistan to afford housing. The project examined the perceptions and preferences of university students at COMSATS Lahore who are going to be the future customers of the real estate market. The findings of this project indicate that there is indeed a housing deficit crisis in Pakistan and there is a lack of awareness about this crisis. The findings also suggest that majority of the students intend to purchase housing soon preferably in Lahore and Islamabad cities. The preference is leaning towards gated communities and housing society. This is consistent with the norms and observations about the Pakistan real estate market as most middle and upper middle-class people tend to gravitate towards such housing projects due to security and good standards of living.Item Higher Education Institution’s Faculty: Profile and Insights(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2019) Mehwish Gull; FA17-RBA-011; Aniqa Rehman; LHR TP 5436First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to almighty ALLAH for giving me the ability to work hard and enabling me to complete this project. The independent variable of the study is Ownership Structure of corporate governance measured through five proxies: Institutional Ownership, Family Ownership, Family Control, Group Affiliation and Institutional Activism. The study has employed System GMM econometric technique to investigate the relationship. According to computed results, Family Ownership puts positive and highly significant impact on market performance of the firm. Similarly, there exists strong and significant relation among Family Control and market value of firm. There is highly significant association among Group Affiliation (GA) and market performance of the firm but in negative direction. Organizational maturity is partially mediating in this relationship while organizational culture is not mediating but it has significant relationship with PMO performance. From this study future research gap and implications are provided.Item Role of Emotional Intelligence on Project Success along with the mediating role of Job satisfaction and Trust(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2019) Syed Sajjad Ahmad Bilgrami; FA17-RPM-001; Dr. Muhammad Usman; LHR TP 5704Number of projects are increasing exponentially every year. This research used a quantitative approach to comprehend how soft skill i.e. emotional intelligence (EI) of manager plays part in project success. In this study a model associating emotional intelligence to project success was tested and the mediating effects of two work attitudes i.e. job satisfaction and trust was examined on this association. The quantitative facts were gather from 286 managerial persons involved in construction firms of Lahore. Statistical tests shows that there is a positive association between EI and project success. Also this relationship is partially mediated by Job Satisfaction and Trust variables. This study will help the organizations to select a suitable candidate having high emotional intelligence in order to make the project successful. Also this study shows organizations that having high job satisfaction and trust among the team members will significantly affect the success of the project.
