    Compulsory Citizenship Behavior as a Predictor of Employee’s Burnout: Buffering Role of Transformational Leadership

    Organization citizenship behaviors are beneficial for organizations but have some personal cost for employees. Specifically, we argue that compulsory citizenship behavior contributes positively to employee’s strain especially with burnout. To study the buffering role of transformational leadership, we collected data from 218 teachersof Punjab Colleges in Lahore division. The results supported our research questions. Compulsory citizenship behaviors have significant positive relationship with employee’s burnout. We also found that transformational leadership buffers the relationship between compulsory citizenship behavior and employee’s burnout, such that the relationship is weaker under high level of transformational leadership.

    Impact of Organizational Climate on Intention to Leave, moderating role of Career Commitment: An evidence from retail chains in Pakistan

    Retail chain industry in Pakistan is growing fast. This footwear retail chains industry facing a problem of turnover in frontline employees. Individuals enter a company with their own career plans. Organizational climate plays a vital role in employee intention to leave. This study investigates the moderating role of career commitment on the relationship between organizational climate and employee intention to leave. Sample was collected from frontline employees of footwear retail industry. A total of 206 front-line employees participated in the study. Descriptive statistics and regression analysis are used in this study to examine and analyze the data. The results of the study showed that reward, responsibility and career commitment had a negative significant association with intention to leave while structure has positive significant association with intention to leave and support proved insignificant. Employee career commitment was an efficient moderator in relationship of organization climate and employee intention to leave. Career commitment moderates the relationship between organizational structure and intention to leave negatively while career commitment moderates the relationship between responsibility and intention to leave positively. In presence of career commitment support and reward proved insignificant. The results highlight the bad working environment was associated with the intention to leave in footwear retail chains. The study suggests positive organizational climate and career commitment enhances and exerts frontline employees‘ satisfaction and therefore it is less likely to look for another job at any organization.

    Does gossip has impact on employee cynicism? Empirical study of higher education institutions in Pakistan

    Gossip is a common phenomenon in the workplace, but yet relatively little is understood about its influence to employees. This study adopts social information theory and social cognitive theory to interpret the diverse literature on gossip, and to develop and test hypotheses concerning some of the antecedents of gossip, with an aim of developing knowledge of the relationship between gossip and employee behavior in the workplace. The purpose of this study was to check the direct and mediating impact of two types of Gossip (Job related gossip and Non-Job related gossip) on employee cynicism through Psychological contract violation (PCV) and Abusive supervision (AS) on the Faculty and Managerial employees of Higher Education institutes of Pakistan. The results show strong impact of Job related gossip and Non-Job related gossip and its antecedents towards employee cynicism however mediation through Job related gossip fails to prove in Pakistani context. Non job related Gossip do have impact though it is very low. The study has implications for employees, management and administrators of the higher education commission (HEC). The management of HEC should be concern about this gossip impact in the workplace as it lead their employees to behave cynically which could affect their performance.

    By the end of my internship program I was able to generate UPS labels, learn about WEBOC (Web based one customs) clearance system to keep track of your shipments going through the customs process, Profoma invoice, Commercial invoice, Packing list, the concept of under-invoicing to reduce custom expenses, various negotiation tactics used by the Import and Export personnel to get the shipping companies (GLS and Damco) to charge as low as possible and types of shipment LCL (Low container load) and FCL (Full container load). In Research and development department, I was able to learn various procedures and vendor evaluation stages, Quality checking, MOQ (minimum order quantity), attempt to get free samples and using Vernier scale to get accurate measurements. In the marketing and sales department, I got to learn company’s various marketing strategies such as Billboard ads and how they are strategically placed across the city, Expo centers, Joint Strategic business unit’s (SBU) Master Tiles and Master Sanitary offices and the proper utilization of social media as a marketing tool. I also got an insight of how the company differentiates itself from the market to grasp the maximum number of customers by using strategies such as Intensive distribution strategy, Cost leadership, Contracts with marriages hall and restaurants for future renovations and home delivery installation. During my interaction with the sales staff, I came to know of the target pricing strategy adopted by them. Moreover, Mr. Tariq HR assistant manager provided me the opportunity to observe the interviews being conducted for vacant positions which allowed me to learn the etiquettes of an interview and what the interviewer demands from the candidate. This internship program has allowed me to look at things from a professional perspective and provide solutions according to the formal framework. My report is divided into the following sections Organizational structure, Business process analysis, SWOT Analysis, Learning as an Intern, Impot Export department, Research and development department, Marketing and sales strategy, New knowledge acquired and Problems encountered.

    Internship report on Askari Bank Limited

    Askari Bank Private Limited (AKBL) was formed on October 9, 1999 under Karachi, Lahore and Islambad stock exchanges. It is primarily aimed at providing loans, managing reserves and corresponding budget administrations. For these services, Askari Bank holds its rank among top banks of the country. Its sustainability has been challenged many times as a emerging name but it managed to overcome these constraints so far and has now more than 406 branches across the country satisfying millions of clients. I started my internship at Askari Banks on July 12, 2017. I spent around six weeks (42 days) at the bank to understand the structure and dynamics of activities like customer correspondence, recruitment and understanding staff duties in its various departments of the branch. My deep observations regarding these executions have been added to the report. These points not only include the portfolio reports of the bank but also my own work related inferences. During my stay at the bank, I was appointed as a learning subordinate. After first two weeks of soaking work details at the bank, I put in my own practical services.

The bop has the ability to face the challenges and to resolve the issues. My internship period was from 13 July 2017 to 24 august 2017.I learned about different functions in the bank. This report consists of my learning as an internee in the bank of Punjab EME branch. This report consists of mission and vision of the bank. It also comprise of marketing strategy, competitive strategy and most important organization structure of the bank.The organization structure of BOP EME branch is not very complex as the branch is undersized.
