    Objectified Body Consciousness, Self Esteem and Psychological Well Being in women

    The purpose of this quantitative study was to evaluate the relationship objectified body consciousness, self-esteem and psychological well-being in women. A convenient sampling methods used to collect data for this quantitative study from 400 participants age ranging between 18 to 30 years (M=20.02, SD= 1.79). Demographic Questionnaire, objectified body consciousness, Revised Attitudes towards self-esteem was used. The correlation analysis demonstrated that objectified body consciousness and self-esteem positively and significantly correlated with psychological well-being. It was hypothesized that objectified body consciousness initiative is likely to correlation self-esteem and psychological well-being in women. The results did not prove an association between objectified body consciousness, self- esteem, and psychological well-being. The finding of the study revealed that there is a significant positive relationship between objectified body consciousness (OBC), self-esteem, and psychological well-being in women. All paths are showed to be significant. These findings have important implications for clinical practice, education, research, policy-making and public health policy. This study will contribute on prevention measures as emerging adults have to go later in their marital, social, and professional life.

    Social Networking Addiction, Self-Efficacy, and Academic Procrastination in University Students

    The purpose of this correlational study was to evaluate the link between social networking Addiction, Academic Procrastination and Self- Efficacy. A convenient sampling method used to collect data for this correlational study from 300 participants age ranging between 18 to 24 years (M =20.20, SD =1.697). Demographic Questionnaire, social networking addiction scale, academic procrastination of students, and General self-efficacy Scale were used. The correlation analysis demonstrated that social networking addiction and academic procrastination significantly correlated yet we were unable to identify the obvious impact of self-efficacy in this study. These findings have important implications for education, research, and policymaking in universities. This study will contribute to prevention measures such as arranging webinars, screen time specific and also introduced counseling sessions as emerging adults have to go later in their marital, social, and professional life. Educational programs should be designed to promote a healthy environment and raise awareness about social networking addiction and academic procrastination. Overall, the results indicate that there are significant gender differences in social networking addiction and academic procrastination, with female students showing lower levels of addiction and procrastination compared too male students. However, no significant gender differences were found in self -efficacy. Despite the limitation, this study will contribute to understating the determinant factors that affect students’ studies just because of social networking addiction and emphases the importance of prevention and intervention strategies in this digital age to control academic procrastination

    EMOTIONAL NEEDS, SOCIAL NETWORKING ADDICTION AND PORNOGRAPHY CRAVING IN EMERGING ADULTS

    This study was planned to explore the link between emotional needs and pornography craving the and mediating role of social networking addiction. In this correlational study, participants were emerging adults aging between 17-21 years (M= 18.9, SD = 1.12). A convenient sampling technique was utilized to select participants and data was assembled from government and private colleges of Lahore, Pakistan. Standardized instruments of Emotional Needs Audit, Pornography Craving Questionnaire, and Social Networking Addiction scale were used to assess emotional needs, pornography craving, and social networking addiction respectively. Results indicated the significant mediating role of social networking addiction in the link between emotional needs and pornography craving. The findings reveal that emotional needs have a significant but negative relationship with pornography cravings. The study results demonstrated that emotional needs have a significant but negative relationship with pornography craving, and only three sub-scales of social networking addiction (i.e., mood modification, conflict, and relapse) were correlating with pornography craving. In terms of the relationship between social networking addiction and pornography craving, the research work found a positive correlation between the two. The findings of the study suggest that emotional needs may be a protective factor against problematic pornography use and that only specific sub-scales of social networking addiction are related to pornography craving.

    Social Networking Addiction, Violent Attitudes, and Suicidal Ideation in Emerging Adults

    The purpose of this quantitative study was to evaluate the link between social networking addiction, violent attitudes, and suicidal ideation in emerging adults. Convenient sampling method used to collect data for this quantitative study from 1051 participants, age ranging between 18 to 21 years (M=18.95, SD= 1.12). Demographic Questionnaire, Social networking addiction, Suicidal Ideation Attributes Scale and Revised Attitudes towards Violence Scales were used. The correlation analysis demonstrated that social networking addiction and violent attitudes positively and significantly correlated with suicidal ideation. Findings suggest that those who have social networking addiction have greater risk of suicidal ideation. Mediation analysis showed that violent attitudes are significantly correlated with suicidal ideation and social networking addiction also positively and significantly correlated with violent attitudes. All paths are shown to be significant. These findings have important implications for clinical practice, education, research, policy-making and public health policy. Educational programs should be designed to promote healthy and responsible use of social networking sites and raise awareness about the relationship of social networking addiction violent attitudes and suicidal ideation. Future research should explore the underlying mechanisms and consider potential mediating or moderating factors. Despite the limitation, this study will contribute in understating the determinant factors that affects the suicidal ideation through social networking addiction and violent attitudes and emphases the importance of prevention and intervention strategies in this digital age
