PLC Based Optimized Automation of Bottle Filling, Labelling and Capping Plant
(comsats university islamabad lahore campus, 2020) Talha Zaheer Aziz Muhammad Ahmad Tariq Jam Ghulam Hassan Sanwal; Mr M. Hassan Aslam; Fall 2018; FA15-BEE-008 FA15-BEE-017 FA15-BEE-041
Generally, there are different bottle filling conveyer for various size of bottles. In this project an efficient automated filling plant is proposed, this plant can identify the size of bottle and able to fill the different size bottles using a single filler. Moreover, capping and labelling is also being done on a single conveyer. Considering the acceptability of PLC in the industry, the filling, capping and labelling is automated using FX1N60-MAR. The proposed design is capable of filling 7 and 3 bottles per minute with an accuracy rate of 95% for .5 and 1.5 litres respectively. Furthermore, the error margin in the capping section is 5-10%.

In the previous decades, robotic systems have been used for multiple purposes and have gained the popularity they deserve. Development in robotic technology has thus now made it possible to perform tasks that previously could not have been performed without human interference. The wireless bomb disposal robot is one such major example which will be used for defense purposes in order to prevent bomb blasts and other terrorist activities. In this project we propose a wireless bomb disposal robot which would use a wireless system at the user end to control the robot. The key features of this robot include a robotic arm, a wireless camera, a dexterous gripper allowing the removal of explosives and a base. Even though far from perfect, by using this robot, we can prevent risking life of the human responsible for bomb disposal. Thus introducing a safer and effective alternative for disposing explosives in order to save lives of common people.

IOT Based Diabetic Patient Monitoring System With
(2020) Muhammad Shahzaib Hashmi , Hamza Ehsan; FA15-BTE-025 , FA15-BTE-022; Mian Ahmed Yasir; LHR TP 5906
One of the most common disease across the globe that will lead to death if there is no proper and continuous health care is diabetes. The failure to control this disease, not only results in long term complications but it also affects life of the people suffering from this disease. If the glucose level is monitored on regular basis, it will provide help to the patients to maintain their health in a proper way. A continuous feedback information about their sugar level is quite helpful for a patient to take care of the health. This document provides the design of the system developed for the monitoring of glucose level, blood pressure and temperature of the patient. Making the desired data available in the cloud, it can be used by the doctors to get that data and provide suggestions. This will help better health care management of their patients. This system will be implemented by using Arduino UNO in order to read data from the user side and displaying towards the doctor side.

    Restaurant Serving System
(COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus Library Information Services, CUI Lahore, 2020) Abdul Rehman , Hassan Bashir , Syed Bilal Hussain; FA15-BTE-044 , FA15-BTE-038 , FA15-BTE-046 , FA15-BTE-027; Mr. Muhammad Usman Rafique,; LHR TP 5886
The trend of using robots as waiters in restaurants is increasing because of the shortage of manpower and high demand of salaries by the waiters, which has become problematic for the owners of restaurants. The technology is replacing manual work force more efficiently. The aim of the project is to develop a Restaurant Serving System (RSS) framework to automate the delivery of food for local restaurants with commercial applications. Traditionally the serving systems in China, India, Sri Lanka and other countries uses robots to deliver food by simple line following techniques and Human waiters/managers to take order form customers. However, this project improves the performance of RSS by dividing into two parts. First, client-server communication (each table provided by android tablet for the customers to place their order and the order details send to kitchen and manager via server). Second, Table number is assigned to serving robot via android application and the robot follow the user’s pre-defined path for different tables and the serving robot have the capability to detect the obstacle in the path. Restaurant Serving System is intended with basic behaviour of obstacle detection and target seeking in dynamic environments using ultrasonic sensors for the efficient delivery of food and to reach the destination by following user’s pre-defined path by implementing the speed-time algorithm with the help of speed sensors. RSS will have graphical user interface system which allows the user to specify food tastes that are of their interest, approximated budget for each person and approximated delivery time. And order details of customer will transfer to kitchen (chef) for the preparation of food. Currently there is no such integrated RSS is available in Pakistan.
