(Library Information Services COMSATS University Islamaabad Lahore Campus, 2018) Fazila Abdul Rehman; SP17-RMS-006; Dr. Imran Shafique; LHR TP 5461
Service industry is growing fast by the time and it is important to incorporate service innovative behaviors (SIB) for survival and growth through incorporating ethical leadership (EL) within firms. Travel and tourism (being the largest service provider industry) is on the rise in Pakistan and contributes a larger part to the economy. The share of travel and tourism to GDP was 5.9% in 2018, and to rise by 5.8% pa, from 2018-2028, to PKR 1,727.7bn (USD 16,391.9mn), 3.0% of total GDP in 2028. The focus of this study is to analyze the role of ethical leadership in tourism sector of Pakistan. This study has three main objective: Firstly, analyze the relationship of ethical leadership and its effect on service innovative behavior. Secondly investigate role of OCB effecting the relationship of EL and SIB and finally, explore role of gender effecting association of EL and OCB. this study incorporate scholarly work on ethical leadership, service innovative behavior, organizational citizenship behavior and gender roles in one framework. By utilizing survey questionnaire, given framework then empirically tested through PROCESS MACRO. The results shows that EL has positive relationship with innovative behavior. OCB mediates the relationship of EL and service innovative behavior. however, gender moderate the association between ethical leadership and OCB which shows that ocb of female employees are less encouraged by EL than male employees. In terms of methodological implications this study perform moderated mediation by applying process macro. Hence, when leaders exhibit moral conduct in organizations, male employee’s service related innovative behavior is enhanced by showing OCB in the organizations.

(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2020) Muhammad Naeem; FA17-RMS-001; Dr. Imran Shafique; LHR TP 6045
The construction sector has always been led to environmental challenges caused by unsustainable actions of human activity, thereby, increasing demand for environmental responsibility (ER) practices in the sector. This research is conducted to investigate how key measurements of pro-environmental behaviors (PEBs) could be related to ER practices of construction projects. The results show that employees’ perceptions of ER practices directed toward non-owner stakeholders are positively related to their PEBs. This relationship is partially mediated by the environmental commitment of project participants. Conversely, employees’ perceptions of ER practices directed toward the local community (external stakeholders) have only an insignificant impact on their PEBs. The study uses survey approach to collect data using a self- administered questionnaire from the sample of 340 in different construction firms of Pakistan by using convenience sampling technique. Basic descriptive statistics and Partial Least Squares (PLS) regression is executed to demonstrate how ER activities aimed at different stakeholders could be used and at what mechanism ER practices can efficiently be employed by project participants to stimulate their pro-environmental behaviors (PEBs)

(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2021) Nayyab; FA19-RMS-001; Dr. Imran Shafique; LHR TP 7223
The role of entrepreneurial leadership in nurturing competitiveness in organizations, as a result of which company performance is improved, is examined in this study. It thus explores how entrepreneurial leadership enables a firm to be competitive in order to bring the required performance in the SMEs of the main cities of Punjab. Previously the relationship among these specific variables is not analyzed in SMEs. The study relied on the complexity leadership theory framework, because it provided analytical tools for understanding the function of leaders in emergent collaborative environments. The unit of analysis of this study is CEO/owners/firm’s managers of SMEs. The data collection is done from various SMEs of Punjab’s main cities i-e Lahore, Sialkot and Gujarat through the distribution of 200 questionnaires via emails using convenience sampling technique. Hence to estimate the relationships among the EL, FC an FP in the SMEs under the current study SEM PLS is used. This study also contributes to the literature as it suggests that as a competitive firm enhances the relation between EL and FP. Moreover the results also confirm previous findings which say that EL promotes FP. The results suggest that FC is important component for enhancing the performances of the firms and it is a main element that mediates the relationship of EL and FP. Thus SMEs should be more focused on developing FC.

Impact of Environmental Responsibility Practices on Employees’ Pro-Environmental Behavior: Evidence from Construction Industry
(Library Information Services, CUI Lahore, 2020) Iqra Kabir; FA18-RPM-007; LHR TP 6063; Dr. Imran Shafique
In a typical modern society, around half of all the physical asset creation is the responsibility of the construction industry, thereby, generating around 10% of national wealth (GDP)”. Large development ventures are here and there alluded to as mega projects. “Construction as an industry includes 6% to 9% of the total national GDP” (Chitkara, 1998). “Construction begins with arranging plan and financing; it proceeds until the venture is fabricated and prepared for use”. Construction industry has been the main source of air, water and noise pollution (Fuertes et al., 2013). All these problems illustrate great concern towards environmental sustainability measures by minimizing negative impacts of construction sites (Janis, 2014). In Pakistan, it is exceptionally uncommon case that construction project is finished on the time indicated or settled upon. There are numerous development extends in Pakistan, which endured delay or sometimes endured suspension or desertion. “Some examples of large construction projects, which suffered delay or suffering delay, are: reconstruction of Earthquake affected roads, reconstruction of Floods affected roads, China industrial cities in Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Baluchistan, Port tower complex by KPT, Motorways of Pakistan, National Highways of Pakistan, and Kalabagh Dam” (Haseeb et al., 2011). Pakistan’s construction sector the hot cake to remote investors assumes a critical role in the economy of any nation. CPEC presently under construction in Pakistan is a key case of a development in totality as all infrastructure ventures consolidated under its umbrella are esteemed at $62 billion by 2017. Ongoing evaluations published in Pakistan economic survey indicate the industry expansion by “9.1% in fy17 and contributed 2.7% to the nation’s GDP.”

Linking Potential Absorptive Capacity, Realized Absorptive Capacity and Project Performance: The Moderating Role of Environmental Uncertainty
(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2020) Jahanzeb Waheed; SP19-RPM-004; Dr. Imran Shafique; LHR TP 6393
This research study builds upon the research framework of absorptive capacity’s (ACAP) by George and Zahra (2002). ACAP includes “acquisition, assimilation, transformation and exploitation” (Zahra and George, 2002). The components of acquisition and assimilation are called potential absorptive capacity (PACAP), whereas, those of transformation and exploitation are facets of realized absorptive capacity (RACAP). The theory of dynamic capabilities is used to underpin ACAP as the dynamic use of resources for acquiring, assimilating, transforming and exploiting knowledge resources for enabling competitive advantage. The proposed model has five hypotheses. H1: PACAP positively effects project performance; H2: PACAP positively effects RACAP, H3: RACAP positively effects Project Performance, H4: RACAP positively mediates the relationship between PACAP and project performance, and H5: Environmental uncertainty negatively moderates the relationship between RACAP and project performance. The relationships among variables are ascertained based on 167 responses from on-going public sector projects/schemes (2019-2020) in the Government of the Punjab using bi-variate correlations, and linear and multiple linear regression analyses. The results show that hypotheses 1 to 4 are accepted, where in hypothesis 4 RACAP has a partial mediation between PACAP and Project Performance. Simultaneously, Environmental Uncertainty does not influence the relationship between RACAP and project performance. The findings suggest that public sector may have peculiar characteristics regarding Environmental Uncertainty and its effect on knowledge processes leading to Project Performance. This is because uncertainty in the environment is not a factor which influences projects capacity to use knowledge for performance. This study adds to the body of knowledge in the area of ACAP by demonstrating that ACAP influences public sector project performance by applying the sequential model of PACAP leading to RACAP, which in turn leads to Project Performance. Practically, the main implications of this study is that public sector project teams need to emphasize the development of ACAP in project and other public sector organizations. As there is interchangeability of knowledge and experience lessons learnt x from successful projects could be applied to other projects and organizations. As the public sector is multi-valued ACAP theory could be furthered by drawing from theoretical and methodological nuances in future research

Linking Team Communication to Agile Software Development Project Success: Mediating Role of Team Adaptability and Moderating Effect of Shared Goals
(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2025) Hadia Ahsan; CIIT/SP23-RPM-006/LHR; Dr. Imran Shafique; LHR TP 10111
In order to accomplish the requirements of Agile software development, an environment characterized as being very flexible is required to be able to collaborate with team members effectively and to align the needs of all team members with the goals of the project. Although Agile methodologies have been adopted by many companies globally, there is little evidence of studies that investigate the impact of individual factors at the level of a team on the outcomes of an Agile project; especially within countries in the developing world. This study utilizes the Input–Process–Output (IPO) model to assess the relationship between the communication of a team and the success of the projects of an Agile software development process, in addition to assessing the mediating role of team adaptability and the moderating effects of shared goals. A Quantitative Research Design was used to collect the data from Professionals in Pakistan who work on Agile Software Development Teams, such as Project Managers, Scrum Masters, and Software Developers. Data collection occurred via a Structured Questionnaire. A PLS-SEM (Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Model) was performed via the SmartPLS program to evaluate the direct, mediating and moderating relationships of the study variables. Results indicate that team communication among team members positively affects the success of Agile Software Development Projects. Results also indicate that Team Adaptability partially mediated the relationship between Team Communication and Agile Software Development Project Success. Therefore, team communication will increase Agile Software Development Project Success through enabling teams to adapt to the changes in project requirements. Also results indicate that Shared Goals significantly moderated the relationship between Team Communication and Agile Software Development Project Success. Thus, Higher Goal Alignment will strengthen Team Effectiveness and therefore produce better Agile Project Outcomes. Therefore, this study extends the use of the IPO model in Agile Project Management Literature through the inclusion of Communication, Adaptability, and Shared Goals. Additionally, the findings of this study offer valuable information to Project Managers and Organizations on the best ways to implement communication practices, encourage team adaptability, and establish shared goals to improve the success of Agile Software Development Projects.

Promoting Software Engineers’ Creativity: Understanding the Role of Leadership Humility
(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2022) Sameen Alvi; SP20-RPM-007; Dr. Imran Shafique; LHR TP 8141
Despite the immense literature on creativity, there is little known about how leaders’ humility and cohesion among employees influence their creativity. Using interactionist perspective, the study examines the relationship between leadership humility and individuals’ creativity. Perceived cohesion was also studied as a mediator between leadership humility and individuals’ creativity in addition to moderating role of trait mindfulness. Data were collected from 140 respondents from the engineers/developers working in various software houses in Pakistan that are registered with Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) by using questionnaire. To perform the analysis Partial least square based structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) has been used through WarpPLS 8.0. The results indicated that leadership humility has a significant and positive impact on individuals’ creativity. Findings confirm all the hypotheses relationships. Moreover, the study concludes with theoretical and practical implications as well as future research directions.

The impact of Abusive Supervision on Employee Creativity: The Mediating Role of Job Stress
(Library Information Services COMSATS University Islamaabad Lahore Campus, 2020) Summyia Gull; FA18-RMS-013; Dr. Imran Shafique; LHR TP 6055
The present study investigates the procedure through which abusive supervision impacts employees’ creativity. Specifically, this study tests the relationship between abusive supervision employees’ creativity directly and through employees job stress as mediating mechanism. To establish the relationship of the variables, conservation of resource theory is used in this study. Abusive supervision could similarly be seen as harmful type of relationship conflict, which has seen as unfavorable to the creativity of employees (Bai et al, 2016). Most of the time abusive supervision effects mental health of the employees also. It is found that stress always drive from the pressure that managers put on employee. But some pressure is good for the employees so that they can perform well in the organization but forcing them too hard can cause serious issues, such as bad performance, low creativity and high turnover (HBR, 2019). We have tested these hypotheses on data collected from 180 private school teachers through questionnaire in Lahore. The findings support our hypotheses and mediation model. To analyze the relationship convenience sampling technique is used. Confirmatory factor analysis used for reliability and convergent validity and discriminant validity test used for validity then correlation and regression analysis.
