MASOOD TEXTILE MILLS

Abstract

I have started my internship program at Masood Textile Mills (Pvt) Ltd and have thoroughly visited different departments. I had been giving my expertise specifically in Merchandising department which is subdivision of Marketing department. During my internship period I have visited different department and watched operations that are carried out on daily basis. During Initial weeks I got the opportunity to know about the organization that MTM (Masood Textile Mills) is a knitted garments manufacturing and yarn dying company and is independent in all its operation work with big brands internationally. It has an organized working system that contributes to the organizational growth. Specifically, I got opportunity to have practical experience in Merchandising. Merchandising department is further divided into different teams and each team is assigned with different brands to work. I had experienced the process of follow-up which means to be updated, and keep (team, department, organization, and customer) updated about each and everything in operation of garment manufacturing. My team is working with five brands Vanguard, Cast Iron, LFDY (Live Fast Die Young), The Sting and PME Legend is the premium brand. The responsibilities of merchandising team are Development of Product, Planning of Project, Costing, Sample planning and manufacturing, Production Order Punching for Bulk production, Customer’ Dealing and Order placement. I have been working with team for whole internship period. During this period, I had faced some issues such as communication with employees within the departments, understanding the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning System) on with whole management system work is complicated and crucial for merchandizers to understand, and last important is follow-up of the operations because merchandizer has to deal with the entire departments, but team is small, that’s why it was challenging during the period. At the end of internship, I had been in the environment and got some practical knowledge, experience and real life learning that will help me to push my career.
