| dc.description.abstract | The word textile is taken from Latin, which means “Woven” derived from Textus means “to weave”. The word fabric is derived from Latin word means “building, thing made”. A textile is basically a flexible material consisting of network of natural or artificial fibers these fibers are usually made by cotton crops. Various steps are involved in converting raw crops into textile products some major steps involved all are including weaving knitting correcting, tatting felting, and braiding. The textile sector is one of the largest industrial sectors of Pakistan. Pakistan is the 8th major exporter of cotton goods and this segment contributes 8.5% to the GDP of Pakistan. The textile industry has also employed 45% of total labor force economy. Meanwhile Pakistan is the 4th larger fabricator of raw cotton but with largest outlay capability in Asia after China and India. This sector pays 35% of worldwide spending ability. At present there are 12121 units for 42 spinning universe 124 large units and 425 small units are producing textile goods in Pakistan. | |
