Abstract

Pakistan, like most other developing nations, is currently at an inflection point wherein it has to choose which kinds of economic institutions it shall be going forward with in order to develop its economy from the grassroots up. Simultaneously, it also has to contend with various risks adverse multinational corporations which do not wish to enter the country’s market entirely on their own as a result of uncertainty concerning the kinds of responses that they would be able to garner for themselves. In light of this, businesses in the country often organize as partnerships, or enter into partnership agreements or enter into joint venture agreements with multinational corporations as the case may be, in order to fully capitalize on the growing opportunities that are emerging in the nation, with a steady growth in the middle class, a general rise in incomes and levels of consumption, etc. This paper shall specifically address the rise of the partnership, and of joint ventures within the Pakistani economy, in order to get a clearer picture of the beneficial role that they have played in the economy (Gulzar, 2018).
