World has become a global village due to advance and modern communication. As our whole body is connected to brain with one central nervous system, whole world is connected with each other with the vast network of communication system. As e-learning is already very popular in western world and Government of Pakistan is also changing its policy for advancement of Pakistan. So, we as a nation also have to do our part in this whole movement to keep up with the pace of the western world. We along with “Lahore Institute of Animation and Design” [1] decided to take an initiative in this regard as we have decided to make a one stop and one click platform for whole Pakistani students for e-learning purpose. As we didn’t have access to far areas of Pakistan and students living there wanted to be registered in this platform for skill building and training purpose in animation field. These students were unable to come to Lahore as it is costly to live here for six months away from home. After doing some research we came to know that we don’t have access to such a big market physically but internet has connected everyone. To implement the above discussed global village concept, we are going to make an online platform so that we can capture a big market through digital marketing to insist them to use our online platform as it will solve their most of problems regarding moving physically to Lahore from far areas.Item Digital Salon System(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus., 2020-11-20) Fazal ur Rehman; FA16-BCS-347; Mohammad Nasir; LHR TP 6183Before starting FYP we did a lot of brainstorming whether we should just do FYP as degree formality or have to make a useful product that solves the problem of common users. Because we believe that the purpose of technology is to solve real world problems and make life easier for common man. Since our project is not very unique but it is adding value in the life of the common man. Nobody paid attention towards this problem so we decided to go for it. Our project’s goal is to facilitate a user with an online salon appointment system to reduce the wait factor which many customers often face when they visit any salon, by online booking of the salon services. This will provide ease to many users to book different salon services on the basis of priority of nearest located salons, price, rating, popularity and much more. In today’s age, where everything is becoming online, this particular business has not been digitized yet. We are providing a solution to a real life problem by which many citizens are suffering from. We have divided our system in three parts from user perspective i.e. Mobile application for customer, Web Admin interface for Salon Owner and Super Admin panel. We provide general mobile and web applications which those three actors can use according to their usability. Salon owner can introduce his/her salon publicly by first signing in on our system. After that he/she can add, update, view and delete content related to the salon and further we can view the schedule of the salon. When any client books any service from that specific salon, the salon owner gets an updated scheduled pattern with client name and arriving time. The normal flow from client’s perspective is that client can search and view different available services on the basis of filter by location, price and others. After selecting service, it moves the client to a scheduled scenario where he can select the suitable and available slots then he further moves to payment option, the payment can be done online as well as he/she can provide cash to salon on time where client has his/her services done. The notification message will be sent to the customer and he/she will be reminded through messages regularly of his/her appointment .The client can also view his/her booked appointments and can also cancel his/her appointment. The normal flow from the owner's perspective is that he can set services by providing location of that salon. The main objective of Super Admin is to authenticate and manage various salons registered on the system. We just have one goal, which is to reduce the wait factor. Also to provide a digital salon system to our country and citizens.Item Smart Police: A dynamic system that eliminates the delay in the advent of police at a crime scene(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus., 2020-11-20) Abdul Samad Butt; CIIT/FA16- BCS- 039/LHR; Sana Rizwan; LHR TP 6182Citizens today face various problems while reporting the crimes to the police. Sometimes, it is the police which is at delay due to certain reasons, for instance; the patrol wagons are not available, the police-men are way too busy to reach at the crime spot on time, or the phone is engaged and people find it difficult to record their report. Due to the above-mentioned problems the common people face great troubles. To overcome these issues, a system is being proposed that may not only help the victims but also the police department to work efficiently. This proposed system focuses on eliminating the delay Pakistan Police faces in arriving at the crime locations, which is majorly because of the inadequate means of communication between them.Item Tradeup.biz – Business Management Information System (Version 4.0 Group 1)(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus., 2020-11-20) ABDUR REHMAN KHALID; FA16-BCS-333; Asif Shahzad; LHR TP 6181Tradeup.biz is a web-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software that is used to manage the business dealings of small to medium scale firms, companies and businesses in an efficient and hassle-free way. The need for this software was made clear when current business management strategies for local businesses were studied. Small scale businesses use excel sheets or manual methods in order to manage stock, inventories, ledgers, sales, invoices, and all other related information about suppliers and purchases. The reason for this is that the cost of license for software’s currently available in the market are expensive which makes them unaffordable by small businesses and they’re desktop-based applications too which restricts their access to certain premise only. Tradeup.biz offers web presence and has modules for sales, stocks, inventories, warehouses, invoices, to name a few in a very economic package to help small scale businesses to thrive. We want to use the technology of tools HTML CSS, BOOTSTRAP, JAVA SCRIPT, DB BROWSER, PYTHON and DJANGO to build a website. Our website will help the user to find the information of countries that provide data for Work visa, Study visa, Tourist/Visit visa, Business Visa and Scholarships for the different countries. We will tell our users the plan they should follow to apply for visa of a country. What are the different processes to apply for visa in different countries? This whole process will be briefly defined on the website. User can also apply for visas and scholarships. There will also be the information by countries on any new update in their visa and scholarship processes. The user will also be able to contact the page through email and phone numbers.Item QR Based Smartphone Application Attendance System(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus., 2020-11-20) Zaid Bin Zafar; FA16-Bcs-132; Sara Muneeb; LHR TP 6176Our project is aimed at making the cumbersome task of marking attendance easier for teacher in educational institutions. We look to make use of the Quick Response (QR) code to help us in our cause. We look to design an android application for students where they can log on to the system scan the QR code and mark their attendance. We will give our faculty members a web based portal whereby, they will generate the QR code and make sure that the attendance marked is correct and up to date. Similarly, a portal will be designed for the admin staff in order to maintain the above-mentioned system and handle the student registration as well generating log in details for both the faculty staff and the studentsItem Smart Trash Collection System(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus., 2020-11-20) Shahab Nadeem; FA16-BCS-231; Dr. M. Tayyab Chaudhary; LHR TP 6173In the past year’s urbanization has increased immensely. With the increase of urbanization production of waste also increased due to which management of waste has considered to be a crucial issue for people and companies as well. To counter this issue, we are going to build a project which will help clean an entire city by managing waste properly. In this project, we will provide bins to people in their houses so that they don’t have to throw waste in plots or on roadsides. Our project will notify the company when a garbage bin is filled then transport will arrive and collect the garbage at the doorstep which will help reduce fuel usage and transportation cost of the company as well as maintaining the healthy environment. It will also cover the problem of garbage bins overflowing which causes sickness by sending notification to the company at the right time. So that company can take action properly and the garbage bin will be empty for later use.Item Pet Care System(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus., 2020-11-20) Muhammad Ahmed Jamil; FA16-BCS-136; KANZA HAMID; LHR TP 6179Pet keeping and their maintenance is all the time favorite hobby for most of the people but due to rapid moving time and life, the interested people cannot continue their interests proficiently. This is the major problem for the office or school going persons that do not have enough time for taking care of their pets. Therefore, the current project is planned and designed so that the pet lovers can upkeep the health of their pets by sitting in their home. In this project, not only the problems of layman is considered but also the veterinary doctors are kept in mind that can easily consult the users online by giving all the useful guidance of the pets.Item Trust Calculating and Evaluating Mechanism for IoT Edge Devices: A federated way(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus., 2020-11-20) Ahmad Shahzaib; FA16-BCS-011; Ali Khan; LHR TP 6130Recently the emergence of edge computing in Iot has enhanced the number of edge devices. In IoT, establishment of trust among the edge computing devices is highly significant to secure integrity and reliability of applications. In the time of need, trust establishment supports neighboring devices by communicating authentic and credible information with each other. Due to the enumeration and easy creation of edge devices there is an increased unreliability in IoT environments. To cater this unreliability, a secure and reliable trust model is requisite to eliminate the possibility of uncertainty and risk. The introduction of a federated system in edge computing plays an important role by allowing the edge devices to share and allocate available computational resources when in need by other devices. Trust between edge devices is the main hindrance to form a federation in edge devices, whereby a trustworthy service provider is required by the service consumers. We have developed a trust calculation and evaluation mechanism for the federated IoT environments. The data and information shared with other nodes(edges) for computation may be confidential and misused by the computing node. So, the requesting node cannot trust any node outside in the network. Our trust calculation mechanism is based on the QoS parameters of SLA (Service level argument) and feedback from the nearby edge devices. This proposed mechanism is effective against bad mouthing attacks caused by malicious devices in modern IoT networks.Item NYCD (Now You Can Drive)(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus., 2020-11-20) Muhammad Tayyab; FA16-BCS-269; Sara Muneeb; LHR TP 6172In this project we focused on making a 3D game on unity which is android compatible, this game will provide a medium for the next generation to learn traffic signs. Currently there are not many digital mediums to learn about traffic signs, the current games that are already available are not that intuitive and fun to play, our game looks much better visually and aesthetically. On top of being beautiful our game also supports VR (Virtual Reality). Users will experience multiple scenarios related to each sign, this will help the player to increase his/her knowledge on traffic signs. There is a need for this type of project because it will enable people to learn about traffic rules, that may result in saving more lives. According to PAKISTAN BUREAU OF STATISTICS, in 2019’s first two months, around 1200 accidents happened out of which 58% were fatal crashes. This game can serve as a testing tool of one’s knowledge as well, if user wants to test his knowledge on traffic signs then he/she should play without reading the instructions and documentation on signs, that way the player will be able to test his/her knowledge. Along with this game an animation will also be made on unity which will explain the documents required for different types of driving licenses.
