This system will be digitalized in such a way that the client, without having the hassle of going to a mechanic for getting their vehicle repaired, can make a mechanic come to their place from the nearest portal or mechanical centre. This removes the difficulties that are faced when the vehicles get major mechanical faults and renders unusable to be taken to the mechanic, or when the nearest mechanic is still relatively way too far from the user to make a tiring trip for getting some services for a car. The client can also take an appointment with the mechanic if they plan to go themselves to the workshop for some of the maintenance work since some of them could not be performed at the customer’s premises; making it easier to get the services instantly upon reaching at the workshop without having to wait for longer thereItem Accident Investigation Training Game for Pak Traffic Police(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2015) UMAR AKRAM; SP11-BCS-128; Imran LatifOur project Pak Traffic Police Accident Investigation is based on the topic of serious games. Serious games are those games in which we train the user/player through playing a game. Our game is developed in a 3D environment in Unity 3D Engine with a 3rd person player. The player will have to perform 6 tasks in order to complete the training. On the completion of every task, the player will get 10 points and the game completes on 60 points. These tasks include placing the Parking Cones, Highlighting the accidental parts of cars, Taking pictures of the accident, Calling the ambulance, Calling the Tow truck, and Talking to the pedestrians. Our game is so much effective in training a player that he/she will be trained in under 4 to 5 min, whereas taking notes, lectures and doing field work requires a lot of time. A fully autonomous robot needs no human intervention. The aim of this project is to design and fabricate a mobile robot to avoid obstacles in its path and reach fixed goal position. The path of any non-holonomic (car like) mobile robot travelling from one point to another needs to be smooth (fair) so as to avoid sharp jerks that can otherwise create premature wear and tear of the robot. Since most of such robots are battery operated so less oscillations in their path is required. Obstacle detection and path planning are the two important features. For obstacle detection a flat terrain is focused in this project. The type of environment (indoor, outdoor) doesn’t matter on the map reconstruction. They hired our team to develop a computerized system (ERP) which could resolve their issues. Ranyal Industries were using manual systems for their daily business. So, management on such huge scale becomes a real time issue, we have put our efforts to develop a good ERP system for them. By using this ERP system they would be able to keep a proper track of each and everything i.e. Sales would be manipulated by our POS (Point of Sale) module and account would be manipulated with proper ledgers. All the transactions committed in this ERP would be based upon accounting principles. He can check his preparation with OES. Student can come on the website of OES and take test and check whether his preparation is enough or not. Our first objective is to make general MCQ’s website so that user can come and check his skills and preparation. Now days, teachers are more interested in taking MCQ type Paper as well as students. It takes time to make MCQ type exam and checking those exams is another problem for teachers. We are trying to give people an easy approach to make exam as well as check those exams. MCQ type exams help teachers to understand the knowledge of student. In most cases it helps to check the basics of students. The project is intended to help students in improving their basics and teachers in making and checking of the exams. Teacher can register his own class by giving email list in a file. Students will be informed through E-mail. Teacher can arrange an online exam and after conducting exam our system will calculates the result and will send it to teacher and students. Teacher can see the result of its every exam that he conducted before and use it for future. System will allow teacher to make his own exam. We have added assignment module in our project. This module will allow teacher to create assignment. Email will be send by the system about the assignment to students of class. Only students that are included in class will be able to submit the assignment and after due date system will zip all the data and will be available in single downloadable file for teacher. We have also added announcement module in our project. Announcement module basically is for students. If teacher wants to announce something to his class he can create an announcement and that will be shared among the students by the system. And if he wants to share file among the students then he just needs to create announcement and attach file with it, system will inform students about announcement and show them the attachment.Item Automation of Brick Kiln Industry(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus., 2015-11-20) Usman Ahmad; DDP-BCS-SP11-043; Abdul Karim ShahidWe have developed such a system which will help the peoples working in the area of “Brick Kiln”. This application will especially help the owner of the kiln to have a look on all the on-going processes with the help of a web based online system. The system has mainly covered the inventory and the HRM of the kiln. System will keep records about the Products, orders and the customers. Through this system the customers will also be able to place order(s) using online web interface or by visiting the office. Both owner and the customer have different privileges. They can use the system with a lot of ease. The owner of the industry has access to whole system, they have access of every single part of the system. They can perform all the desire processes with comfort and they do not have to manage and go through a lot of data. They can also get rid of the old system in which they have to maintain records manually in log books which became a problem after reaching at a certain point and this data remain wonder able. Their important data will remain secure as no one can view the system due to the restriction applied on the system, the data will remain available all the time for them.Item E-Assessment Tool for Subjective Question-Answer(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus., 2015-11-20) Nadeem Ahmed; SP11-BCS-097; Dr. Muhammad UmairIn the field of education, the examinations are the process of evaluating the knowledge or skills of a student. And the methods for this evaluation always remain in discussion to make it even better and easier than before. Traditionally the exam evaluation is carried out on manual basis which is authentic; but quite time taking. With the recent developments in technologies, every step is taken to automate the current manual processes, to make the job easy and interesting for the human. Short questions - answers are playing important role in the evaluating of subjective knowledge so we have developed an application to evaluate the closed short question answer. Motivation behind the development of this application is to decrease the work load of teacher and the time required for the evaluation of the exam papers. Our application evaluates the answers by semantic matching student answers with the sample answer set by the teacher. And for the text matching between student answers and sample answer we used direct string matching and existing NLP(Natural Language Processing) algorithms like N-Gram and Longest Common Subsequence (LCS). The dataset for the experiments, consist of 100 short questions with at least three possible answers for each. In its 1st stage falling eggs are to be caught by SuperChickMamain a basket by briskly moving it under the falling eggs and utmost prudence is to be used to save the eggs from breaking. In the 2ndstage, hatched chick start falling from the hatchery Tray and are to be collected by SuperChickmama in the basket. In the 3rdstage all the saved chicks are to be taken to a safe place facing hurdles. In this game two gaming styles i.e. fall-catch and running is used. Single hand controlling is applied to facilitate the player, Accelerometer is used to facilitate the people suffering from Parkinson’s disease .They can control their uncontrolled movement of their hands by just tilting the device left or right without touching the screen.Item Fair Economic World (F.E.W)(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus., 2015-11-20) Umair Hassan; SP11-BCS-126; Nadeem Ghafoor; LHR TP 6953The world today is facing economic crises (amongst many others) and the fundamental reason for these crises is the capitalistic system. Capitalism promotes accumulation of wealth, which results in wealth disparity in a society. The promoters of capitalism claim that it is the only viable system for the world. The fact of the matter is that this system is making the viability of world dubious. Just take a look at the global environmental devastation that this consumerism promoting system has produced. We believe that the only economic system that can save humanity is the system based on Islamic ideology. Since such a system is not practically in place at the moment so people have doubts about it. This game is an attempt to introduce principles of Islamic economics to the world so that humanity can continue on this planet. As we all know that the Islamic Economic System helps not only Muslims but also the non-Muslims, but at the same time we see that no country has implemented the Islamic Economic System even in Islamic country. From a Historical Point of view, it has been seen a major downfall among Muslim countries. They had boom for many years even they ruled the world when they followed Islamic basic principles in all their living aspects of life. This project is actually one of the modules of the large multiplayer game. It is an Android version of the game but it also has the ability to run on a cross platform. Like in Windows, iOS, and other etc.Item RESTAURANT GUIDER(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus., 2015-11-20) Cornelious; SP11-BCS-163; LHR TP 6954The purpose of this application is to provide both consumers and restaurants of Pakistan a platform where information related to restaurants can be shared. Restaurant Guider System provides a platform where consumers can select restaurants, place orders, reserve tables and provide review. Both consumers and restaurant management can read the reviews. Restaurant management can use these reviews to improve their services and consumer can use reviews to evaluate the alternative options available. This application includes user management system, restaurant management system, menu management system, promotion management system, deal management system, table reservation system, review management system, branch management system, order management system and profile management system. We have worked on the application using agile development methodology which allows us to gather the requirement and designing the prototypes at the same time. This application is both web based and android based system. To gather the requirement for this application we conducted informal interviews with the restaurant staff and studied current working applications in Pakistan. Functional and non-functional requirements were identified using the gathered information. Graphical user interface is designed using HTML and CSS. Database management system is designed using RDBMS. Identified functionalities are implemented using PHP for web based and Java for android based application. This application is easy to use for both customers and restaurants. Restaurant management can use consumes review to improve their services and consumer can use review to evaluate the alternative options available. For future work an android based admin panel can be developed so the restaurant management can easily update their information android smart phone. Application can also be developed for IOS users.Item University Guider(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus., 2015-11-20) Muhammad Umair; SP11-BCS-088Augmented reality brings life to imagination and now it is used in many mobile applications. Mobile technology offers totally new ways to access information, share contents and interact with the environment. A mobile application named as “University Guider” has been developed for this project. University guider is an augmented reality android based application. The develop guider connects available digital contents with the real world. Guider basically scans and prints materials to view rich digital experiences then as extra digital content appears, allowing the user to interact with the world in a whole new way. User can upload information, download, and view information (in form of 3D view, web links, and videos). University guider also tells nearest places around user current position, the direction and shortest path of the desired place. This is a location based application that guides the user to visit various parts of the university and also to any other point of interest nearby e.g. banks, ATM, restaurants, hospitals, bus terminal and other recreational spots. The project has been designed using android toolkit, vuforia, openGL, and web for instant sharing of information live online using a simple android plane. Examples from the real world are used to clear the concept of counting and mathematics basics like addition, subtraction, division and multiplication. To attract children, interesting and interactive activities are included to check the skills and learning of the child. Interface is developed in such a friendly manner that the interest of the children remain throughout their learning. The application is developed on Android platform and will be supported by many android supported smart phones and tablets.Item Security Surveillance and Alert System (SSAS)(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus., 2015-11-20) Muhammad Zohaib; DDP-SP11-BCS-026; Dr. Muhammad Hasanain Chaudhary; LHR TP 6957Object detection is an important element in a video surveillance system, used to identify objects of interest and to generate data for tracking and analysis surveillance system. A video surveillance system is proposed here which will be able to detect those objects. As compared with traditional face detection approaches, databases are used for the comparison of objects. We have created a system in which the object will be identified on the basis of algorithms. This will make our system fast as compared to the traditional face detection algorithm. The project involves real-time surveillance system. The system done the surveillance of the area through cameras and will work automatically on the basis of algorithm that we will design. It will not require any operator to watch the live video stream for 24 hours a day. The system will work and respond without the help of an operator. Most people have the ability to listen and speak and they use different languages like Urdu, Swedish, English etc. to communicate. Hearing impaired people use signs to communicate. Pakistan Sign Language (PSL) is the preferred language of the deaf persons in Pakistan. Currently, human PSL interpreters are required to facilitate communication between the deaf and hearing; they are not always available, which means that communication among the deaf and other people may be limited or non existent. In this situation, a system with voice recognition as an input and PSL as an output is required to facilitate both the normal people and the deaf people. Wherever communities of deaf people exist, sound to sign languages need to be developed. It is important that developing tools are in native language which is easy to understand. So in the system developed in this project the input is taken in Urdu sound language and the output can involve simultaneously combining hand shapes, orientation and movement of the hands to express the input words. The developed system has two parts, one is training and other is communication. In training part the system is trained for the voice and words of a new user and then the communication mode can be used for the communication purpose. The main idea is that we have to get the particular Urdu sound as an input. It has its applications in almost all fields of life, ranging from health to agriculture, space science to mining, sports to education etc. Particularly the use of ICT in the education field, may turn the boring and exhausting class room environment into an attractive and interesting one. Visual based learning can significantly enhance the performance of the student. In this web based project, our major goal is to develop a Teaching Aiding Tool for the students which would demonstrate the working of critical problems of different subjects like computer programming, algorithm analysis, data structures, and operating system. In computer science there are many critical algorithms which are difficult for students to understand. We would explain the working of these algorithms through animations so that the students will have better idea in their mind about its working in an interesting and attractive environment. In addition to this we also work on dynamic quiz generation to help the teachers. Moreover the automated evaluation of the quiz will help the teachers in compiling the result in efficient manner.
