Item The Impact of Transformational Leadership Style on Project Success through Teamwork; The Moderating Role of Inter-Organizational Relationships(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2020) Muhammad Fahad Mateen; CIIT/FA17-RPM-007/LHR; Dr. Ammar Abid; LHR TP 6385In modern times, the number of projects is exponentially increasing and organizations are becoming more and more Project-oriented with every passing day. Project Success has become the ultimate target for every Organization and Project Manager. However, Project Success rates have not been as high as these organizations and managers would desire. Research is still being done to understand and identify the elements of project success and mitigate the probability of failure of projects. Till date, multiple components have been identified that influence project success including characteristics of a project manager, role of organization and inter-personal skill etc. The research is an attempt to further probe into the role of Project Manager, Project Team and Organization to understand their contribution in project success. Previous studies have proved that Teamwork and Transformational leadership have a significant impact on project success. This study extends the horizons of this relationship by including an external influencing factor i.e., Inter-organizational Relationship (IOR) to validate its influence on project success within public plus private sectors. A quantitative study was conducted considering the firms operating in Lahore, Pakistan as the subject population of the research. A sample size of 222 was considered and an approach of convenience sampling was adapted to collect data through questionnaires. Regression was applied on the primary data acquired from the respondents which proved that the Project Manager’s Transformational Leadership Style has a substantial and constructive effect on quality of teamwork, wherein teamwork acts as a mediator between project manager’s style of leadership and Project Success. Furthermore, the Inter-Organizational Relationship act as a moderator between the relationship of Project Manager’s Transformational Leadership style and Project Success. Through data collected from Project Managers of firms operating in Lahore, Pakistan, the study allows to express a bigger picture towards the role of Project Manager, Project Teams and Organization leading to Project Success. In theory, incorporation of external ix constraints like IOR and their influence on Project Success completely changes the dimensions of previous studies and articulates the fact that Projects are an open-system rather than a closed-system and should be studied as is, in order to achieve more accurate results.Item Investigating the Relationship of Employee's Social Networking Site Usage Intensity and Performance(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2020) Museerah Javaid; FA17-RBA-007; LHR TP 6038; Dr. Asma ImranThe research aims to investigate the impact of social media usage on job performance by studying the employees of Apparel sector of Pakistan. In order to enhance, the living standards of women particularly in developing countries, it is essential to increase job openings in the market and the best approach is to encourage the citizens to develop into job creators rather than job seekers. Therefore, in the recent times, increased efforts have been made by the governments all across the globe to escalate the number of entrepreneurs (Thomas & Moisey , 2006). Nevertheless, it has been noted that although women entrepreneurs acquire immense potential to develop into entrepreneurs, they confront various barriers while initiating their own business. Social and financial capitals are the two potential barriers that women have to deal with while fulfilling their ambition as entrepreneurs. As ladies tend to stay at home as a house wife or have lower paid employments, it gets to be troublesome for them to subsidize their own particular business (Wellman et al., 2001). When they look for outside source of subsidizing, for example, credits from banks or other money related foundations, they are provided funds only after the agreement of their spouses. Subsequently, if their spouses do not permit them to work or apply for the credit, then they cannot get the endorsement from these foundations. Moreover, because of their constrained groups of friends, females may experience issues in extending their business as informal organizations are imperative to bolster the development of a business (Thomas & Moisey , 2006).. Besides, as a consequence of social practice in the nations, numerous females have a tendency to have lower education than men. As a result, they often lack sufficient technological and managerial skills to initiate their own business. However, the advent of Internet has opened the employment doors for the females for the reason that it gives an effective platform for communication to them. Information communication technologies and particularly social media not only provide a faster source of communication but it is relatively cheaper and easier to use. Following the invention of numerous social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook and My Space, numerous females all across the globe have gained several business benefits from them. The use of social media has allowed the females to expand their social circle as well as raise social capital that is crucial for initiating new business. The Internet and social media significantly support the creation and maintenance of large social networks in comparatively accessible and cheap way. In addition, social capital raised by the means of social media can be a significant resource for entrepreneurs; therefore, a crucial driver of women empowerment (Wheeler, 2007). The social media is also found to augment the self-efficacy among women as it allows them to interact with different people. Consequently, by increased self-efficacy women entrepreneurs develop a greater sense of empowerment. The chief focus of this study is to construct the model that encompasses the factors, which foster women empowerment in relation to business. The model proposed in this study has highlighted the role played by the information technologies and particularly social media in empowering women entrepreneurship by the means of enhanced self-efficacy and increased social capital. In order to achieve the goal of the study, the research had provided a comprehensive review of the concepts such as entrepreneurs, women entrepreneurship and information communication technologies. The study has demonstrated the role of social media in empowering women entrepreneurship through increasing social capital and self-efficacy. In order to accomplish this aim, the researcher adopted a quantitative research design that was based on survey questionnaire method. A survey was carried with 100 participants among whom majority were women who aspire to be or are entrepreneurs. The researcher employed a random sampling technique to select the participants of the survey as this technique provided an equal opportunity to the entire population to get selected. The researcher also conducted a secondary research to get an insight into the concepts crucial to accomplish the goal of the research. The data extracted through secondary research formed the part of the literature review section. On the other hand, the SPSS 20.0 has been used to analyze the primary data obtained through survey. The responses of the participants attained through survey were initially coded and then inserted into SPSS for the purpose of analyzing. Frequency tables and charts were constructed to demonstrate the response of the participants, which were than interpreted by the researcher.Item THE IMPACT OF TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT, TRAINING EVALUATION AND KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT ON EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE: A CASE STUDY OF TM RUBBER PVT. This is incredibly important in the market because it provides new opportunities for business. In addition to examining the economy, boosting it, and opening new routes for industrial growth, this would cause diversity in the world of businesses in developing countries, research into female entrepreneurs is smaller than that of developed countries.(Ahl, 2006) Entrepreneurship has often been a male-oriented job style due to the sociocultural influences of culture in the developed and developing countries. It was firstly formed as “Orient Airways” before the partition of our country with the neighboring country. Its main office was at that time in Chanaye but you could avail its services from all over the world now which is incredible. On 10th January 1955, the government of Pakistan decided to re-name the name of the airline and chose “Pakistan International Airline´(PIA) as the new name as they relate with the name of our country too. The main hub and offices of this company is in Karachi which is known as the industrial area of Pakistan, whereas they have their offices in Lahore and Karachi too. Now if we look at the current scenarios and the situation of the company then we can easily say that though the company is running their operations but it is not in its best state. The competition is also increasing day by day and people are choosing the competitors to fly overseas than to fly from PIA. Market is also becoming saturated and customers got many choices to choose from. All the competitors are chasing the market share and every company is in the efforts to capture as much market share as possible. It is known as the largest airline of Pakistan with having more than 30 airplanes. According to a survey report, the company is operating 500 flights on daily basis and now days it is putting more emphasis on privatization and how can they better the services they currently offer. For this, the company operates In 22 local destinations and 28 international places that includes North America, Middle East, Asia, Europe etc.Item FOOD WASTAGE: A COMPARISON OF FOOD SERVING STYLES IN BANQUET(Library Information Services COMSATS University Islamaabad Lahore Campus, 2018) Hafiz Abdullah Altaf; FA17-RBA-006; Dr. Amir Riaz; LHR TP 5448Food wastage in wedding events is a social dilemma that has to be abated and scarcity of natural resources should be realized by society in order to maintain national food security. Conventional buffet style food service promotes consumer plate waste, costing organization a negative image of food shortage and sub-standard service. Changing service style can save consumable food as well as increase goodwill of organization. Social responsibility demands structural and cultural adjustments to eliminate hunger and poverty from society. Organizations working in national food supply chain should play their part in saving food by increasing operational efficiency where appropriate service style can save service related costs.
