What Factors are Involved in Sustaining their Relationship?(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2022) Rabiya Sagheer; SP20-RMS-017; Dr. Muhammad Shakeel Aslam; LHR TP 7954Nowadays, the environmental decline has become a global dilemma. A lot of industrial practitioners, scholars, environmental legislatures, and businessmen these days agree that increasing air and water pollution, global warming, resource scarcity and the use of hazardous substances are all contributing factors to environmental degradation. Stakeholders are exerting heavy pressure on organizations to limit the adverse effects of their activities. Therefore, businesses need to shift from traditional to contemporary eco-friendly ways. However, in literature little attention has been devoted to green issues-especially in the developing countries. Thus, the study strives to bridge this gap by examining the influence of environmental corporate social responsibility (ECSR) on environmental performance and competitive advantage in Pakistan. The study also examines the mediating effects of green product innovation and green service innovation in a relationship of ECSR, with environmental performance and competitive advantage. Furthermore, moderating effects of organizational agility and individual green values for the relationship of ECSR and green innovation are also tested. A face to-face and online questionnaire survey was allocated to the middle-level employees of the manufacturing and service sectors of Pakistan in general and Lahore in particular. The data of 343 respondents were collected. WarPLS and SPSS 17 were used to further analysis the results of the study. The findings of the research not only contribute to the existing knowledge but also guide the policymakers and top management of corporate firms to minimize harmful emissions, water contamination, air pollution, waste, and energy conservationItem Impact of Bai Salam on financial inclusion and agro-production Business: A case of wheat producing small farmers in Faisalabad.(Library Information Services COMSATS University Islamaabad Lahore Campus, 2015) Atiq Amjad; FA12-MSMS-003; Dr Hafiz Zahid Mahmood; LHR TP 4305Financial exclusion, in terms of lack of access to credit from formal financial institutions, is high for small and marginal farmers, (Nouman, 2013). It is stylized fact that agricultural financing is extremely conducive in agricultural production businesses and help to improve farm productivity. A paramount number of financial institutions are involved in such financing globally and in local settings in all of the nations. Islamic Agricultural financing is an innovation, has been, currently, introduced in agro-production businesses. Islamic Agriculture financing mode may Include Bai Salam (advance payment) Murabaha, Modaraba and Musharika. There is great gap in the literature concerning empirical work regarding the impact of Salam on agro production business. Therefore this study has been devised to observe the impact of Salam, extended by Wasil foundation, on financial inclusion of the small farmers as well as their wheat production business in Faisalabad district. In this regard data has been collected from 90 Salam clients (i.e. treatment group) and 100 non-Salam farmers (i.e. control group) from target area using close ended questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, paired and independent sample t-test, multiple linear regression (MLR) and probability regression (PR) analysis were rendered, respectively, to achieve the results of the study. Moreover relationship of age, education, family size, farm size, loan taken, cost of land preparation, cost of labor, cost of irrigation and cost of chemicals with output of wheat using MLR were estimated while probability of financial inclusion was gauged with the change in age, education, farm size, tendency status, soil fertility, ratio of bread earners in family and off farm income using logistic regression. The results of this study confirms significant differences in financial inclusion, inputs purchasing, amount of output per area, revenue and profit per unit area between treatment and control group. Moreover, similar results were obtain in case of pre and post scenarios of Salam clients/respondents. As far as regression results are concerned it is explored that age and irrigation cost have significant negative relationship with wheat yield while cost of land preparation and chemicals and loan taken have significant positive relationship with output. Moreover, logistic regression results indicate that Age, farm size soil fertility, and ratio of bread earners in family positively affect where tenancy status negatively to financial inclusion, respectively. On the basis of results of the study, it is strongly recommended to offer Salam on wider scale to enhance financial inclusion and increase per acre output of wheat which will lead to food security and reduction in poverty.Item EXAMINING THE ROLE OF WATER AND SANITATION AUTHORITY’S CLEAN DRINKING WATER PROJECT IN DISEASES ALLEVIATION: A STUDY FROM LAHORE.(Library Information Services COMSATS University Islamaabad Lahore Campus, 2015) Faisal Shahzad; SP13-MSPM-009; Dr. Hafiz Zahid MahmoodIn Pakistan many factors such as industrialization, urbanization, sewerage problem, and challenging demands of water for energy and food production are resulting in contamination of drinking water. Consumption of this contaminated water has adverse effect on health and socioeconomic status such as income, working days and work performance of people in Pakistan. In largest cities of Pakistan water and sanitation authorities (WASA) have taken initiatives to provide clean water to public by installing filtration plants at different locations. This study compares the morbidity levels and their consequent effects on the socioeconomic factors such as income, health expenditures and work performance of the target household in different areas of Lahore using with (treatment Group) and without filtration plants (control group) approach. For this purpose primary data from 300 households was collected from various locations of Lahore using multistage sampling method. Differences in treatment and control group were analyzed using descriptive frequency distribution, averages and percentages of the target variables while extent of relationship between water borne diseases and income losses, expenditure on health and loss of working days was quantified through regression model using dummy variable technique. Ten major waterborne diseases identified in study area including diarrhea, stomach infection, vomiting, abdominal pain, typhoid, lungs infection, kidney infection, skin infection, tuberculosis and hepatitis. Moreover, Results make it clear that households not using plant water are at more risk of waterborne illness as compared to household using plant water. Thus, in areas lacking WASA filtration plants, due to waterborne diseases more children remains absent from their schools, more people got absent from work, bear more absenteeism cost and waterborne expenditures. Moreover, mostly infants and children becomes victim of waterborne diseases.Item Role of Creative Discourse on Organizational Politics & Organizational Learning(Library Information Services COMSATS University Islamaabad Lahore Campus, 2018) Ayesha Khalid; FA16-RMS-002; Kashif Luqman; LHR TP 5677The aim of this study is to explore the role of creative discourse spaces in organizational politics and organizational learning. Literature on politics and organizational learning brings to the fore two imperative roles of politics in organizational learning. On the one hand, the traditional literature on the links between organizational politics and organizational learning portrays politics as destructive effects on organizational learning. On the other hand, a few studies have posited organizational politics as a source of enhancing organizational learning. The literature also suggests that in the presence of spaces for creative discourse in organization, employees involve in organizational politics that enhances organizational learning; while the unavailability of discourse can result in politics that is harmful for organizational learning. However, despite invaluable contributions in the literature and practice, the theoretical underpinning and empirical literature on the role of creative in organizational politics and organizational learning is non-existing. By using qualitative case studies of two companies as a research methodology, this study aims to explore the role of creative discourse spaces in shaping organizational politics which is constructive for organizational learning. The key reason to use this methodology is the lack of theory on the links between creative discourse, organizational politics (both constructive and destructive) and organizational learning. As a contribution in theory, the present study will contribute how spaces for creative discourse can affect organizational politics and learning. The study will suggest that organizational politics should not be considered essentially negative for organizational learning. Instead, the managers need to provide employees with spaces for free and open dialogue and discussion and focus on offering them opportunities for experimentation. This would create politics in the form of tensions and contestations and the exploitation of these contestations in ways that are constructive for organizational learning.Item Impact of fair Compensation on employee Motivation(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2020) Shahzaib; FA17-BBA-043; Shomail Sarwar; LHR TP 6809The study of this project is to determine that what are the aspects of compensation on employee motivation, and this report refers to the objectives of fair compensation should be delivered to each employee in the organization.
