Item Green Supply Chain Management Approaches; Drivers and Performance Implications within Project, (Project Base Organization NESPAK)(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2018) Muhammad Zahid Iqbal; SP14-MSPM-027; Dr. Muhammad Khan; LHR TP 5214Recent studies, recommend a developing interest for Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM), particularly in regards to "greening" the different levels of supply chains. Monitoring and collaboration are the two main GSCM approaches that are studies in the literature; but not any of these studies has shown impact of each driver on particular GSCM practices. Being multinational company, NESPAK has introduces GSCM concept in its different sectors like (power & mechanical division, highways and transportation engineering division, building services division). The questionnaire was sent to a sample of 350, project managers team leaders and project engineers affiliated to the different divisions of NESPAK. Data analyzed using SPSS 20.0 to analyze a multiple regression analysis to narrate GSCM drivers, GSCM approaches and project environmental performance. This study will analyze project environmental performance using GSCM approached and environmental drivers. The multiple regression analysis has been employed on two models of the study. We determine significant impact on both collaboration and monitoring GSCM practices of environmental drivers. Similarly, results show that collaboration GSCM practices are not significantly related to the project environmental performance. Results also depicts that monitoring GSCM mediates the relationship between environmental drivers and project environmental performance. The result shows that by encouraging firms to comprise in monitoring and collaborative initiatives, project environmental performance objectives can be achieved. The execution of these activities would enhance ecological execution of the central firm, and by implication the execution of the entire inventory network, through enhanced procedures and items. From project management point of view, this study has several implications. First, adoption of GSCM practices pays off in terms of project environmental performance by employ supplier-related GSCM practices such as provide suppliers with feedback of environmental audits and/or with training. Second, it is needed to go beyond monitoring when working with suppliers. The environmental performance will improve when there is collaboration between supplier and buyers. Policy point of view this study suggests that government regulation/agencies are less effective than non-coercive drivers (e.g. competitors, customers, society, etc.), in term of GSCM practices. The policy implication, it would be more proficient to create systems to empower the straightforwardness of supply chains, than to apply coordinate coercive weights.Item Factors affecting contractor attitudes and behaviours regarding construction and demolition waste management: A study of construction industry in Pakistan.(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2018) Fatima Aqeel; SP14-MSPM-013; Dr. Muhammad Khan; LHR TP 5267Lahore is the second largest city of Pakistan; it is making its way up as indicated by the development initiatives taken for the city, infrastructure development and the provision of the basic facilities to the residents. The provincial budget of Punjab for the fiscal year 2014-2015 out-lay by provincial government is PKR1033.70 billion. PKR345 billion was allocated for Annual Development Program (ADP) in the budget, of which 40% is reserved for the utilization in Lahore for the various ongoing and several new development projects.(Directorate General Monitoring and Evaluation, Government of Punjab). With the numerous ongoing construction activities in Lahore, a large amount of construction waste is generated which aroused growing public concern. Human factors affect the construction and demolition waste management. Attitude and behaviour of contractor directly influences the practices for managing waste during construction and demolition. Factors affecting contractors‟ attitudes and behaviours are critical in understanding how to resolve issues surrounding construction waste management practices in Pakistan. To achieve the objectives of the study contractors operationalizing in Punjab will be selected through random sampling technique. List of the privately registered contractors under different categories in Lahore, Punjab will be taken from authorized body, Pakistan Engineering Council updated on the authorized website of Contractors Association of Pakistan and divided into three groups according to tendering capacity and minimum personnel resources.200 contractors will be the targeted for conducting survey. A structured questionnaire survey will be implemented from Begum et al., 2009. Through logistic regression analysis, the relationship between various factors affecting contractor attitudes and behaviours regarding waste management will be assessed. This study will utilize the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) software to analyse data.Item Impact of Leadership on Project Success in software and information technology industry of Pakistan(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2018) Ume Ammara; SP14-MSPM-031; Dr. Abdus Sattar Abbasi; LHR TP 4858Pakistan is a developing country, which is witnessing growth in its IT sector and there is huge potential in this industry. But there are certain problems related to the inefficient utilization of the human resource in this sector which has resulted in high project failure rates. This study was conducted on the premise that appropriateness of leadership style could address this issue and improve project success in IT industry of the country. Further, there is also indication that there is lack of theoretical and empirical development on leadership in the field of project management. This study thus, assessed the impact of leadership style on the project success in IT industry of Pakistan, whereby team readiness was taken as moderating variable. Using survey methodology, data was collected from 252 respondents and analysis of the data revealed interesting indications. It was found that transformational leadership, transactional leadership and laissez-faire leadership yielded a positive impact on the project success. Further, team readiness was found to have moderated the impact of leadership on the project success. Most important leadership style in IT industry remained transactional leadership in context of team readiness, while transformational leadership become negative after inclusion of the team readiness and laissez-faire leadership became insignificant. These findings are sector specific and are related to the specific dynamics of IT industry of Pakistan, which is characterized by human resource exploitation, high stress, excessive demand for innovation and semi-skilled nature of the human resource.Item Impact of transformational leadership style on project success: The mediating role of team-building between transformational leadership and project success(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2018) Ayyaz Anjum; CIIT/SP14-MSPM-008/LHR; Dr. Muhammad Usman; LHR TP 4854Impact of transformational leadership on project success has empirically approved, but how this mechanism has the influence on project success is not known well. This research thesis determines the mechanism that how transformational leadership affects the project success and how team building mediates the relationship and enhances the influence of transformational leadership on project success. This study also determines the effect of transformational leadership on team building practices. To examine the mediation of team building between transformational leadership (IV) and project success (DV), data was collected from 209 project team members of information technology (IT) and construction sector. For empirical analysis, Baron and Kenny (1986) mediation method is used with hierarchal multiple regression. The legitimacy of team building mediation is further confirmed by the Sobel’s (1982) test. The results of hierarchal multiple regression (HMR) confirms that transformational leadership (IV) positively influence project success (DV) and team building partially mediates the relationship between independent and dependent variables. Theoretical and practical effects of these outcomes are also discussed in this research thesis.Item Service Quality and the Moderating Effect of Shari’ah Perception on Client Satisfaction; A Comparison of Islamic and Conventional Microcredit in Pakistan(Library Information Services COMSATS University Islamabad Lahore Campus, 2016-02-04) Sarah Khan; SP14-MBO-010; DR.Waheed Akhter; LHR TP 4372Microcredit is emerging concept which is precisely working well to reduce poverty as well as improving socioeconomic status after accessing microcredit by clients. Shari’ah perception as mindset and envision, is playing moderating role between the service quality and client satisfaction for clients of Islamic and conventional microcredit. The sample clients are 578. 289 clients from each sub-sector of microfinance provider .i.e. Islamic microfinance institutions and conventional microfinance institutions. Akhuwat and Kashf are taken for Islamic microfinance institutions while Rural Community Development Society and Development Action for Mobilization and Emancipation are taken for conventional microfinance institutions, representing the microcredit of microfinance sector in Pakistan. The comparison is done between Islamic and conventional microcredits from Islamic and conventional microfinance institutions. The correlation, regression, ANOVA and interaction test is used for testing the relationship of Shari’ah perception as moderator among service quality and client satisfaction. The findings show the significant positive association between service quality, Shari’ah perception and client satisfaction for both Islamic and conventional microfinance institutions while there is significant moderating effect of Shari’ah perception between service quality and client satisfaction for both clients of Islamic and conventional microcredit. The result also shows that the determinants are highly significant. On the basis of interest perception, Islamic microfinance institution can capture more clients from conventional microfinance institutions because their clients don’t consider interest good for wellbeing or else, conventional microfinance institutions should open window for Islamic microcredit to compete in market.Item To analyze the impact of E-Service Quality and trust propensity on consumers Repurchase Intention with mediating role of satisfaction in E-Commerce(Library Information Services COMSATS University Islamabad Lahore Campus, 2014-02-04) Raheela Mughal; SP14-MSPM-032; Dr. Faisal Tehseen Shah; LHR TP 4358Today world e-commerce is included in every field.
