Item The Impact of Knowledge Management on the Competitive Advantage of Small to Medium Enterprises in Pakistan(Library Information Services COMSATS University Islamabad Lahore Campus, 2020-04-08) Rumeng He; FA16-RPM-013; Dr. Ghulam Hussain; LHR 6057Contrary to the majority of knowledge management research that focus on large firms in developed countries, this research focuses on Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Pakistan, a developing country, where 99 % of the total business establishments are made up of SMEs. The relationship between knowledge management, innovation and competitive advantage is explored in this thesis, as well as the moderating roles o f the secto r of business and size of firm. The questionnaire s urvey approach is used to gather data from the owners of around 160 SMEs operating in the fields of garment and textile, furniture, advertising, handicraft, food, consultancy , software/IT and tr ading. The results will then be analyzed through various statistical methods as appropriate . The expected findings for this study should demonstrate that knowledge management significantly and positively affects competitive advantage and that innovation also positively and significantly effects the competitive advantage. Conclusions drawn from this study can be beneficial to both practitioners and scholars in understanding and implementing knowledge management successfully thus improving and enhancing ove rall performance of firms and the economy in the context of developing countries.Item The Relationship between Entrepreneurial Leadership and Employee Creativity Mediated by Employee Engagement and Moderated by Open Innovation(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2023) Rana Bilal Younas; FA19-RMS-014; Dr. Ghulam HussainThis study examined the direct and indirect effects of entrepreneurial leadership on employee’s creativity through employee engagement using social cognitive theory. It also examined the moderating role of open innovation on entrepreneurial leadership on employee’s creativity. The sample was selected from small and medium-sized enterprises. An online survey method was employed to collect data. In total, 229 usable responses were retrieved to conduct the analysis. A confirmatory test was used to test the psychometric properties of the scale. To test the study's hypotheses, Process Macro for SPSS was used and model 5 was selected. The results showed that entrepreneurial leadership was significantly related to employee’s creativity. Besides, employee engagement significantly mediated between entrepreneurial leadership and employee’s creativity. The results for the moderating effect also showed a significant and positive moderating effect of open innovation on entrepreneurial leadership and employee’s creativity. Based on the study’s findings, implications for theory and practices are suggested at the endItem The Relationship between Safety-Efficacy, Safety Climate and Safety Behavior: The Mediating Role of Regulatory Focus and Moderating Role of Subjective Task Complexity(Library Information Services COMSATS University Islamabad Lahore Campus, 2020-02-04) WAHEEB AMJAD; FA18-RPM-018; Dr. Ghulam Hussain; LHR TP 6390The main reason of the current study was to determine how better regulatory focus orientations could explain the relation between safety-efficacy, safety climate and safety behaviors of individuals’. Deficient or the absence of occupational safety and health (OSH) not just adversely influences the project boundaries of cost, quality, and timetable; however affect the sustainability of natural climate. Occupational safety and health (OSH) is a very significant subject in project management, but rare study contributes to the manufacturing sectors of Pakistan. The proposed model explains the relationship between safety-efficacy, safety climate and individual’s safety behaviors, through the mediating role of self-regulatory focus and moderation role of “subjective task complexity”. A sample of 430 respondents (which have been working under plant installation/maintenance) projects from manufacturing sector over the Pakistan is selected. Basic demographic, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), normality test, regression process, moderation, mediating Process by Andrew Hayes is executed using SPSS V25 and AMOS 26 software’s. Our 4 hypotheses are accepted and 1 hypothesis is rejected. This study demonstrates promotion and prevention focus play partial mediating between safety climate, safety-efficacy and safety behaviors of individuals’. This study also reveals the effect that only subjective task complexity can positively affect the safety x behavior of individuals. The current study provides some directions for future research and limitations which is described in chapter-6 briefly.Item Developing Supply Chain Agility in a Dynamic Environment through Supply Chain Orientation and Supply Chain Collaboration(Library Information Services COMSATS University Islamabad Lahore Campus, 2020-02-03) Zainab Arshad; SP19-RBA-009; Dr. Ghulam Hussain; LHR TP 6380With the growing uncertainties and environmental dynamism in the business world as experienced globally today in the form of the Covid-19 pandemic. The supply chain agility (SCA) has appeared to be a significant competency to stay in business competitiveness in this time of growing unpredictability and turbulence. The research is conducted to study the impact of environmental dynamism (ED) directly or indirectly by linking the mediating role of supply chain collaboration between supply chain orientation and supply chain agility. This study contributes by discussing the roles of supply chain orientation (SCO) and supply chain collaboration (SCC) in the development of an agile supply chain in the context of rising volatility in the manufacturing industry of Pakistan. Consequently, these notions were firstly discussed and theorized on the base of literature. Secondly, this is the cross-sectional study that executes the quantitative method for data collection through an online survey questionnaire. Since the data was collected during the COVID-19 pandemic, from 315 manufacturing firms and this research study is influential from the point of view of exposing the significance of the concepts under study. Additionally, to analyze the proposed model and hypotheses different analysis techniques were employed using different statistical software Packages. The findings reveal the significant direct relationships along with the substantial and positive role of supply chain collaboration by mediating between supply chain orientation and supply chain agility. Furthermore, the moderating effect of environmental dynamism was insignificant and negative.Item The Impact of Knowledge Management on the Competitive Advantage of Small to Medium Enterprises in Pakistan(Library Information Services COMSATS University Islamaabad Lahore Campus, 2020) Rumeng He; FA16-RPM-013; Dr. Ghulam Hussain; LHR TP 6057Contrary to the majority of knowledge management research that focus on large firms in developed countries, this research focuses on Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Pakistan, a developing country, where 99% of the total business establishments are made up of SMEs.
