(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2018) Arsilan Maseel; SP16-RPM-001; Dr. Faisal Tehseen Shah; LHR TP 5215
In many organizations, a project manager is assigned more than one project at the same time. This research is based on multi project managers and this type of management in which a project manager has to deal several projects simultaneously is known as ―Management of a Group of Multiple Projects‖ or MGMP. The study has identified the key drivers of effectiveness in MGMP in service sector of Pakistan. The moderation effect of top management support for the key drivers with performance and learning has also been studied. Using a questionnaire, data has been obtained from 179 project managers working in the service sector of Pakistan. It has been found that project manager assignment and project manager competency are the significant predictors of the effectiveness of MGMP. None of the factors under consideration has found to be significant predictor of project manager learning. This study confirms the role of top management support as a moderator for the relationship between these factors and MGMP effectiveness. The top management support moderates positively the relationship between PM assignment, PM competency and project performance. The relation between resource allocation, PM competency and PM learning is also moderated positively by the top management support. The research is helpful for managers to understand how the performance in MGMP can be enhanced and what are the factors the top management has to consider enhance performance of projects.

(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2018) Hafiz Fakhar Abbas; FA13-MSPm-003; Dr. Faisal Tehseen Shah; LHR TP 4860

If manager has the characteristics of transformational leadership can help ensure the success of the project even at a large scale. They actually inspire the followers to perform better and even beyond their expectations to foster healthy relationship. Similarly, a transformational leader may incorporate the team building dimensions in the project teams. With transformational leadership, team building dimensions also becomes the part of the team creation which ultimately impact the performance of the project team. This will help team members even in the absence of the team leader. Data collection was done using questionnaire. These questionnaires were distributed to the project managers in the construction sector of Pakistan. Findings suggest that there exists a significant relationship of transformational leadership and project success. There also exists a significant relationship between team building dimensions (goal setting, role clarification and problem solving except interpersonal relations) and project success. Future research dimensions and recommendations are also presented.

Certain volatility factors like Scope changes during project, Project plan not updated after requirements changes and Change control not monitored effectively. Volatility factors are taken as mediating effect in between the client skills and success of IT projects. IT projects completed in time, budget and with complete project functionality and performance, and lastly client satisfaction is considered as success indicators of IT projects. A summarized model is proposed through the literature review done from the previous studies. All forgoing literature strengthens the model justification. Software developers, team leads, technical leads, project managers are targeted as respondents for our quantitative analysis.
