Item Synthesis of rGO/Fe3O4/CS Nanobiocomposite to Fabricate Screen Printed Electrode for the Detection of Norepinephrine (NE)(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2024) Junaid Hassan; CIIT/FA22-RPH-006/LHR; Dr. Akbar Ali; LHR TP 9433This research requires synthesizing of rGO/Fe3O4/CS nanobiocomposite to fabricate Screen Printed Electrodes (SPEs), which will be used to detect norepinephrine (NE). They are Fe3O4 nanoparticles that are of magnetic nature, chitosan which are biocompatible and rGO which has appreciable electrical conductivity were combined in an efficient and environmentally friendly manner by co-precipitation method to produce the nanobiocomposite. Characterization of rGO/Fe3O4/CS was done using FTIR, SEM, XRD, Raman, and UV-Vis spectroscopy through which the structure and morphology of the synthesized material were explained. Experiments done using EIS and cyclic voltammetry indicate that the modified SPEs were electrochemically more sensitive to NE analyze than the bare SPEs. Thus, application of the rGO/Fe3O4 and CS electrodes led to the decrease in the effective limit, increasing the sensitivity and expanding the linear range of detection. The utilization of the nanocomposite components might be because of the synergistic impact in regard to electron transfer rates and a high NE adsorption surface. This work bearing futuristic facts in neurochemical surveillance and medical diagnosing establishes the possibility of employing SPEs incubated with rGO/Fe3O4/CS nanobiocomposite as a reliable and effective system for neurotransmitter detection.Item Fabrication and Characterization of Co3O4-Fe2O3-Chitosan Ternary Nanobiocomposite Electrode for Neurotransmitters Detection Applications(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2024) Talha Tariq; CIIT/FA22-RPH-008/LHR; Dr. Akbar Ali; LHR TP 9434This study focuses on the fabrication and characterization of a Co3O4-Fe2O3-Chitosan ternary nanobiocomposite electrode for detecting neurotransmitters, with a specific emphasis on Norepinephrine. The combination of these materials creates a unique electrochemical platform that offers enhanced sensitivity and selectivity for the detection of neurotransmitters, which are crucial biomarkers in diagnosing neurological diseases. The research involved synthesizing and analyzing Co3O4 nanoparticles, Co3O4-Fe2O3 (3:1) nanocomposites, Co3O4-Fe2O3-CS (3:1:2%) nanobiocomposites, and Co3O4-Fe2O3-CS (3:1:1%) nanobiocomposites. The nanobiocomposites, designed for neurotransmitter detection, specifically Norepinephrine, were thoroughly characterized and evaluated using a range of analytical techniques. These included X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Raman Spectroscopy, Ultraviolet-Visible Spectroscopy (UV), Cyclic Voltammetry (CV), Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS), and Differential Pulse Voltammetry (DPV). The analyses provided valuable insights into the structural, morphological, and electrochemical properties of the fabricated nanobiocomposite electrode. These findings demonstrate its potential for accurately detecting Norepinephrine in biological samples with high sensitivity and selectivity.Item Synthesis and Characterization of Hybrid Nanomaterials for Energy and Environmental Applications(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2024) Saba Khaliq; CIIT/FA22-RPH-023/LHR; Dr. Muhammad Ashfaq; LHR TP 9423It is a challenging task to work with composite of hybrid nanomaterials without losing their unique properties. It is a difficult task to get the composites to work together. Researchers aim to find the best ways to mix them while keeping their individual properties intact. Physical parameters like size and shape play efficient role in the synthesis of hybrid nanomaterials. Controlling the composition and structure to tailor properties for specific applications while maintaining cost-effectiveness and sustainability is also a significant concern in this field. Imagine creating tiny superhero materials at the tiniest scale possible. These superhero materials named hybrid nanomaterials made by mixing different ultra-small particles like metal nitrates, graphene oxide (GO), and reduced graphene oxide (R-GO) and synthesized by a modified hummer’s method. Characterizations like XRD, CV, and UV-visible and RMAN spectroscopy of synthesized hybrid nanomaterials was carried out to analyze their application in the fields of energy and environment. Hybrid nanomaterials based on graphene oxide and metal nanoparticles efficiently purify water by removing contaminants. These tailored materials, with their modified properties like high surface area and selective sensing capabilities, play an important role in tackling challenges related to pollution control, environmental monitoring, storage, and clean energy generation. Ongoing research aims to optimize these hybrid nanomaterials for different sustainable energy and environmental applications.
