Item Synthesis of CeO2/NiFe2O4 Nanocomposites and their Photocatalytic Activity of Methyl Orange Dye under UV-Visible Irradiations(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2022) ALI BASHEER; CIIT/ FA20-RPH-048/LHR; Dr. Muhammad Hammad Aziz; LHR TP 8003Using the hydrothermal technique CeO2/NiFe2O4 for exceptional photocatalytic activity, nanoparticles are fabricated. Methyl Orange dye according to its toxicity, color, and environmental hazards was used as aqueous pollutant source for photocatalytic experiment results. The synthesized nanoparticles were characterized by various techniques such as Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-visible spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The photocatalytic activity of synthesized nanoparticles was studied by conducting the degradation of methyl orange under the visible light. PL spectra were verified for the recombination and separation time for the synthesized nanoparticles in different light regions. 88.57% of Methyl Orange was degraded in 120 min. The result attests to low cost, reusable and high efficiency photo catalyst for environmental remediation. The synthesize sample is easily separable using any external magnetic source. In addition, sample results show the shifting of absorption spectrum towards the visible region of light. FTIR and XRD results show the functional and cubic spinel shape photo catalysis formation. SEM images show the morphology of the sample. Reusability and stability experiment exhibit the miner reduction in catalyst efficiency percentage after five cycles. According to extraordinary applications the synthesize sample are used on large scale for Industrial Waste Water treatment process in future.Item Green Synthesis of Au doped SnO2 mediated Via Artocarpus Heterophyllus for the Degradation of Methylene Blue Dye in Water Treatment Application(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2022) Hira Khalid; CIIT/FA20-RPH-042/LHR; Dr. Muhammad Hammad Aziz; LHR TP 7998The green synthesis of nanoscale materials is of special interest to researchers all over the world. We describe a simple, inexpensive, and environment friendly approach to the synthesis of gold-doped tin oxide nanoparticles, which is based on the use of plant extracts. Green synthesized nanoparticles can be used as catalysts, photocatalysts, adsorbents, or alternative agents for the elimination of various organic dyes. With the rapid growth of population, increasing urbanization and industrialization, environmental pollution is becoming a serious concern worldwide. In this work, gold-doped tin oxide nanoparticles were synthesized via sol-gel method. Different type of pollutants is released into the water bodies enormously from the expansive range of industries. Among all the pollutants, dyes are the major used noxious waste discharged by these productions. Dyes are posing a threat to the ecosystem and human health risks.. Green synthesis of nanoparticles (NPs) can be done to degrade molecules of dyes in wastewater. Removal of dyes from the wastewater using green synthesized nanoparticles with the help of plant extracts is a sustainable technique, i.e., by the use of this technique, our environment will not be polluted, and its quality will be maintained. The present review discusses the nanoparticle formation by using plant extract, and, finally, the remediation of dye using such nanoparticles. Overall, the approach presented in the article supports environmental protection and is a promising alternative to other synthesis techniques
