(Library Information Services, COMSATS University, Lahore Campus, 2019-06-19) Ahsan Waseem , Sarmad Javed Khan,; FA15-BCS-009 , FA15-BCS-114; Mr. Muhammad Adnan
Nowadays, everything is automated and easy to be accessed through smartphones and personal computers. The developed countries have achieved a lot in this regard but Pakistan is still lagging a little behind. In Pakistan, there isn't any efficient online service that provides access to all means of available public transport. There are some apps/websites that provide such information but they cover only a single/specific type of transport service. Therefore, most of the times people don't know all the available suitable options of transport from a particular point to a destination and hence end up wasting their time and money. We decided to overcome this problem as much as we could and came up with a solution in the form of an integrated platform that will allow every user to explore their proper transport options with respect to their current location. This application will provide all the information about possible means of transport i.e. Buses, Railways and Airlines. User will be able to compare the fares and services of all transport services, view all the schedules and reserve/book seat(s) in the selected transport, without hassle. In addition, the user will also be able to track Real-time location of vehicles.

In this final year project, we aim to develop an e-commerce application for implementing a rec ommendation system that will personalize the products according to customer‘s preferences. A recommender system is a subclass used to predict the user‘s ratings or preference for an item. Due to overwhelming varieties of information on the internet, the recommendation has become a necessity. In the current state of research and development, many social media sites and online stores target people to recommend the relevant product. The significant contribution of our pro ject is to design such an efficient system that will refer to the product based on popularity, search es, and user‘s interest. The data has collected from different online stores such as Amazon or mobile.pk. We have applied different algorithms of the recommendation system which in cludes Popularity based, content-based and knowledge-based recommender system.

When operating in office without the use of technology the work can be hard, time consuming and work may not be completed. Nowadays, everything is getting automated and easy to access through smartphones or personal computers. Office automation refers to the application used to digitally create, collect, store, manipulate, and relay office information needed for accomplishing basic tasks and goals. The term office automation refers to the use of integrated computer and communication systems to support administrative procedures in an office environment. Our project is for university students and faculty to automate their tasks. This project is an initiation for helping the faculty and staff to collaborate with each other. The project basically consists of three modules. RecycleIT
(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus., 2019-11-20) Abdullah Jaffer; FA15-BSE- 005; Sabeen Amjad; LHR TP 6244
In 2013, Americans generated about 254 million tons of trash and recycled and composted about 87 million tons of this material, equivalent to a 34.3 percent recycling rate only. It is difficult, costly and in the coming years will be almost impossible to separate disposable and non-disposal material in factories. Recycling must take place at homes. Simply separating plastic, glass and consumables is not enough Considering the huge problem of plastic pollution, all over the world, a single person mixing the wrong type of trash or garbage items can ruin the entire wastage disposal process. This causes our environment to remain polluted and unhygienic for longer period of time. The motivation behind this project is to facilitate people in helping a recycler. Without going through the tedious activity of learning and differentiating each object to dispose, leaving that to our software to do, it also promotes a sense of good will by providing citizens the facility to report trash littered all over the city with the click of a button. Plastic and other hard to dispose trash variants have been the cause of serious pollution. Burning of these materials is damaging sea life and human life causing many other environmental issues. Our project seeks to aim at helping people recycle better by identifying and categorizing objects into recyclable, disposable and other categories.

Hemacare unravelling all your problems to find a blood donor
(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus., 2023) Muhammad Jawad Hassan; FA15-BSE-093; LHR TP 6108
The blood donation services are limited to manual systems and more or less based on phone calls. It is in the need of considerable significance to utilize latest tools and technology to move to an automated system and eradicate the use of pen and paper to enter records. Moreover, advance one step ahead to eradicate or minimize the phone calling services as today’s era demands much more than this. The idea is to build up an application which provides an ease for patients demanding donors. Basic idea is to build a blood donor application so that the patient can easily access available donors. This application will also have complain & feedback cell so that the backend is always aware of what updates and changes are to be made. The patient, instead of going to blood banks and paying heavy charges to get a single bottle of blood, will open the application and can search available donors for his/her blood group.
