Item Automated Water Filtration for Modern Urban Infrastructure(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2025) Muhammad Soman Qaseem; CIIT/SP23-REE-001/LHR; Dr. Fawad Azeem; LHR TP 9996To provide clean drinking water that is free of impurities, harmful bacteria, and chemical toxins, Water filtration plants are essential. Due to an increase in the urban population, the demand for higher-quality water has also increased. These filtration plants help by reducing the reliance on tap water, which in turn helps prevent waterborne diseases as they play a vital role in supporting industrial, agricultural, and municipal services through a pure and consistent water supply. Due to the demand for clean water in modern urban environments, it has become necessary to implement systems of advanced water filtration. Nowadays, water filtration systems often suffer from inefficiencies and are subject to human error, due to which manual monitoring and control of the water filtration process can be unproductive. Integrating an automation system with a water filtration plant provides an ingenious way to significantly improve efficiency by making real-time adjustments based on the demands and changes in water quality. This will also help minimize operating costs and further provide optimization of resources, which in turn can help the system to proactively identify failures and issues, such as filter clogging or chemical imbalances, allowing for a timely intervention. A water filtration automation system can be a complex network that manages the filtration process by constantly monitoring water quality parameters and system parameters, including flow rate, pressure, and water quality sensors, which provide real- time data for monitoring and decision making.Item Comparative Analysis of Amorphous Core Technology Transformer with Conventional Transformers based on Multi- dimensional Performance Parameters and Challenges in its Implementation in Pakistan(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2025) Mirza Shakeel Azhar Khurrum; CIIT/FA23-REE-004/LHR; Dr. Fawad Azeem; LHR TP 9997Transformers are significant units of electrical power systems. Power transformers enable the distribution and transmission of electricity over vast distances[1] by stepping up and down the voltage level according to requirements. The core is one of the most essential components of transformers as it deals with the magnetic flux linkage between the primary and secondary windings. In the past, Cold Rolled Grain Oriented (CRGO) silicon steel has been a significant material utilized for the core of transformers[2] because of its relatively lower core losses and efficient magnetic properties. Recent developments in materials science and the rising need for energy efficiency have paved the way for the investigation and adoption of other materials, such as amorphous metal alloys. Amorphous core transformers are gaining grip around the globe because of their significantly lower no-load losses in contrast to CRGO transformers [3]. These properties make them the best solution where the main focus is to increase the efficiency and sustainability of energy. This report gives a deep insight into making a contrast between Amorphous core and CRGO transformers, highlighting technical, operational, environmental, and economic attributes. It also includes real data on cost analysis and enlightens the long-term benefits of amorphous core technology.Item Design and Development of an Intelligent Control System for Multifunctional Agricultural Simulator(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2024) Muhammad Afzaal; FA22-REE-005; Dr. Fawad Azeem; LHR TP 9370
