Abstract
A Juvenile Detention Center is a specialized facility designed to house minors who are accused or convicted of legal offenses, focusing on rehabilitation rather than punishment. These centers aim to provide a structured environment where young offenders receive education, counseling, and behavioral interventions to support their reintegration into society. In many contexts, including developing countries, challenges such as overcrowding, lack of trained staff, and limited rehabilitation programs hinder their effectiveness. This study explores the role of juvenile detention centers in promoting reform, the psychological and social impact on youth, and the need for policy reforms to ensure a more humane, restorative justice approach.
