dc.description.abstractMedical physicists are concerned with the different aspects of human healthcare such as disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. Physics in medicine is applied physics. It consists of various healthcare aspects like orthopedics, cardiology, and cancer patient radiation, medical imaging, and medical research. Nuclear medical physics, medical imaging physics, health physics, and oncology physics are all areas of medical physics expertise [1]. Medical physicists who are specialized in "medical imaging physics" capture different images of cancerous body parts in order to diagnose and treat the condition. Medical imaging specialists are ensuring that the images generated are real and accurate. They also verify the generation of high-quality images for magnetic resonance imaging, radiography, fluoroscopy, mammography, computed tomography, and angiography [2]. Medical physicists working in the field of "nuclear medicine" investigate the workings of the body and treat illnesses by using minuscule amounts of radioactive substances, or radionuclides. The radionuclides are either ingested or inhaled, or they are injected into the body. The area where radionuclides congregate is subsequently concentrated using detectors that are external, i.e., gamma cameras, and photographs are taken by health workers to help in diagnosing the affected region. Single photon emission computed tomography and Positron Emission Tomography(PET) are used for this type of imaging. Thyroid, gallbladder, cardiac, and brain ailments can all be diagnosed using these images [3].
