Currency Recognition Application

Abstract

It is difficult to remember and being able to identify all the different features of different currencies, which can lead to incorrect identification of the currency note.To avoid confusion between currency notes of different countries, an application should be developed that could immediately identify the note by using the camera and then show the user which currency it is. In this way all doubts of a person would be cleared about the note he’s being handed over. Currency Recognition Application is an application which solves the issue of identifying currency notes of different countries. When the user takes picture of the currency note through the application, Currency Recognition Application recognizes currency notes and displays the user information about the note on the screen. It displays what country the currency note belongs to, and it also displays what the note is e.g. Rs. 100, Rs. 500 etc. In Currency Recognition Application, we are applying Machine Learning and Image Processing techniques to identify currency notes, and the camera from the phone will be used to capture images, or the user can also import images from the gallery to identify existing pictures of currency notes.
