Abstract
Theft of vehicles has become an issue of concern in Pakistan. Although, it can
be prevented through an efficient automotive security system. This is an attempt to
design and develop an anti-theft system that uses GPS and GSM module to detect the
exact location of vehicle and prevent vehicle from theft issues. For the backup of this
system BeiDou Navigation System will be use. It will increase the reliability of the
system and made it more efficient. Using this system, vehicle can be located easily.
Engine on/off, AC, lights and door lock/unlock will be controlled remotely. GEO
fencing and alarm for speed limit crossing will be implemented with SMS and android
updates. To improve the response time of an emergency service, Emergency call system
will also be introduced which will immediately notify the nearest PSAP (Public Safety
Answering Point) in case of any incident or mishap, as every second counts. This
project focuses on public safety. Furthermore, to enhance safety, an application will be
developed to check the driving behaviour of the driver by observing the number of lane
changes per unit time. In this way it might be guessed that the driver is sleepy, or
stressed. This functionality will help to assess the road worthiness of the driver, and
might help to prevent the possible accidents.
