| dc.description.abstract | Serious games always have a primary purpose of learning, training and practicing a skill. These games are helpful in various sectors like emergency management, city planning, defence trainings and most importantly health care. In health care industry, serious games are playing an important role in rehabilitation and fast recovery of patients by providing them an entertaining environment. Total Knee Replacement (TKR), Total Elbow Replacement, Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction Surgery (ACL) and other related surgeries are progressively common in older adults and sportspersons. Surveys from various physiotherapists show that with a proper and regular exercises, after these surgeries, the rehabilitation outcome increases. Fun4Recovery is a sensor equipped mobile-device supported game having a primary purpose of fast recovery of these patients by distracting them from the pain, they bear during their exercises with the help of an entertaining gamming environment, experienced by patients while playing the game. | |
