Abstract

This is the internship report based on the seven week internship program that I completed in the Anchoring Department at 7 news HD starting from20 june2023 to 10 august 2023. Apart from the theoretical studies, stepping into the professional world was new to me but every hour spent at 7 news gave me amount of experience all the time. Anchoring at a news channel involves being the main presenter or host of a news program. Anchor delivers the news, conducts interviews, and provides analysis. It's a challenging and exciting role for me. This report includes how an anchoring department at a media channel works, what the activities performed by the department, and what is the importance of it in the organization. Also, it includes what were the tasks assigned to me during my internship. It is considered the leading department of the channel and continues working 24 hours a day. Initially, during the first 2-3 weeks, I was supposed to observe the working of professionals, As an intern in the anchoring department, you had the opportunity to observe and learn from experienced anchors how they perform their in front of camera their body gesture and movement. What’s the role of anchor, how they make questions on time when they are live, also how to play with prompter. I also observed the program recording of the morning show broadcasted from the channel and its production phase. I noticed the responsibilities of employees during the program broadcasting. And I found this process as very interesting and yet a very difficult aspect to work on. In addition to that, my internship has been a fantastic resource for teaching me about the corporate and professional world.
