Mostly hostels and student housing are more look like concrete cages, I want to improve this in the form of design
of buildings and make them comfortable. More open and close to nature. Inviting light inside the structure. Design
a hostel space that addresses the current problems of traditional hostels and provides innovative solutions through
architectural design. The project explores the use of alternative materials to concrete, which have a lower
environmental impact and offer a unique aesthetic. Mostly hostels and student housing are more look like
concrete cages, I want to improve this in the form of design of buildings and make them comfortable. More open
and close to nature.
Hostels in Pakistan are mostly simple concrete structure, and amenities which are not as per student requirements.
which leads to uncomfortable living for students. So the space need to be rethink & design in such way that it will
be create a good impression on users mind. The design approach challenges the typical enclosed nature of hostel
spaces, creating an open and interconnected environment that promotes socialization and community-building
among residents. The thesis proposes a new typology for hostel design that incorporates sustainable materials,
natural ventilation, and light, creating a healthy living environment. The project seeks to achieve a balance
between privacy and socialization, offering a range of common spaces for residents to interact while also
providing private spaces for rest and reflection. The thesis argues that architecture can play a critical role in
addressing the pressing social and environmental challenges of our time and that innovative design can lead to
better living environments for all. The design will be limited to students & young professional like interns.
