Abstract
Global connectivity has been a challenge for Pakistan ever since. Technological advancements these days always demand ease and comfort to common user’s life in all possible means. People want to grasp what they acquire with few clicks on their smart devices. Everyone wants quick and easy solutions. We have seen various examples already like Uber for transportation, Food Panda for food logistics etc. but there is still an absence of a stable service software that connects doctors and physicians with local patients. Even the most complicated models are already being used in the industry yet on local level we face difficulties to synchronize necessities with utilities online.
We have come across such a project named “eDoctor” for the timely provision of doctor to the patients in case of emergencies or for casual medical check-ups. As the name suggests "eDoctor" is an application that is developed to facilitate patients belonging to urban and rural areas of Pakistan in:
• Finding best Doctors/Hospital for a particular disease
• Book their appointment online
• Keep the record of medical history and reports
• View doctor’s profile
• All places of OPD
• Doctor’s contact numbers (if given)
• Hospital numbers
• Consultation fee of Doctors
Online space will be provided to registered patients to upload all their medical investigations and doctors will see on need.
Although not worldwide, but this application is a big necessity for people of Pakistan reason being people are less educated and less aware where to go for which malady. Doctors would be specified with their area of expertise, their practice hours in clinics and hospital OPD’s. Users will be able to select from a wide range of relevant doctors present in their vicinity. eDoctor deals with problems in finding doctor and avoiding problems that occur when a patient requires to travel several miles just to book an appointment. In addition to that medical history and reports are saved on an online portal, thus risks of losing reports and Patient’s history are lessened. The interface would also allow both the patients and doctors to write feedback for each other. The GUI would be kept simple and more with more self-explanatory icons for convenient usage by less educated people as well.
