Abstract
Research focuses on generating effective electrode materials for Semiconductor Ionic
Membrane Fuel Cells (SIMFCs) specifically designed as cathodes in Liquid Solid Fuel
Membranes. Researchers used co-precipitation methods to develop stable compounds
with better electrochemical properties that would promote homogenous materials. The
laboratory team applied Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) and Raman and UV-Vis
spectroscopy for determining optical-vibrational-structural properties of synthesized
materials. Accurate identification of critical functional groups through FTIR
investigations enabled scientists to comprehend material chemical structures as well as
bonding arrangements. The bandgap and optical absorption properties which are
essential for semiconductor performance in fuel cells were analyzed by UV-Vis
spectroscopy but Raman spectroscopy revealed information about the phase structure
and crystalline formation of the materials. Experimental outcomes show that the
materials demonstrate suitable qualities through separate FTIR peaks and Raman
signature and optimal optical properties which qualify them for LSFM-based fuel cell
applications as cathodes. Researchers have shown that co-precipitation enables
effective production of electrode materials fit for semiconductor fuel cell technologies.
