dc.description.abstractRoad accidents are one of the leading cause of deaths globally. Majority of these accidents are due to driver’s inattention. A short advance warning will significantly reduce the number of collisions. This report elaborates the design and implementation of a system that detects and classifies objects in the proximity of a vehicle travelling at a certain speed, and alerts the driver, based on the given situation to avoid collision with the detected objects, if the system predicts high probability of collision.
