As a part of my Media and Communication Studies degree, I undertook an internship at Media Hub Productions. This paper is a reflection of my primary hands-on experience. During my internship, I was fortunate enough to acquire priceless experience working in multiple departments at Media Hub Productions. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to work at the Media Hub. This was my first experience of being part of an organization. It took me a bit of time to adjust to the culture and environment, but with the assistance of my colleagues and supervisor, I adapted quickly. The regular staff meetings provided me with the necessary information. This report provides readers with an understanding of the history, mission, vision, office locations, main offices, and employee numbers of Media Hub Productions. It has been an incredible privilege for me to complete an internship at Discover Pakistan, the only HD television channel of Pakistan. In this report I share my experiences and the training received during a six-week period spanning 17th July 2023 and 31st August 2023. Also provided herein is an overview of Discover Pakistan which covers its organizational structure, departments, internship plan, acknowledgments program and training program. My reflective journals detail my daily tasks and schedule. In particular, they highlight working in different departments such as 3D modeling, VFX and environment design. Furthermore, this report details the production process for programs like 'The Morning Show' from pre-production through post-production stages. Working at Discover Pakistan has allowed me to expand my skills in areas like 3D modeling, VFX and environment design through hands-on experience. My mentor Asim Butt provided invaluable guidance regarding quality standards, workload management and other industry aspects. In addition to developing technical abilities, it was fascinating witnessing the collaborative work culture and pace of creative industry work environments. SWOT analysis highlights an organization's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats based on my observations. Critical analysis compares my theoretical knowledge with practical experience in the field; work samples have also been included as part of this analysis. Finally, recommendations were offered while summarizing key learnings, skills, and future plans.Item RAVI ADVERTISING COMPANY(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2023) Maryam Waqar; FA20-BMC-044; Maam Ayesha Mirza; LHR TP 0000This brief documents my valuable internship with Ravi Advertising Company, where I gained valuable experience in the fields of advertising and public relations (PR). It describes the main things I was in charge of, what I managed to do, and the lessons I learned. Principal Duties and Achievements: Integrated Campaign Development: Worked closely with the advertising and public relations departments to develop and launch integrated campaigns that maximized brand exposure by fusing advertising and PR strategies. Interacted with and engaged clients on a regular basis, attending meetings to learn more about their businesses so I could develop targeted marketing strategies that reflected their respective brands. Contributed to the development of engaging content for several channels, while maintaining message coherence with customers' communication goals. Media Relations – Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with media outlets; drafting proposals; gaining media coverage for clients; maximizing the latter's exposure. Event Planning and Execution: Involvement in the planning and execution of promotional events, including the management of logistics, and the development of favorable media attention and customer interaction. Took part in maintaining customers' social media accounts and gained a deeper comprehension of successful social media tactics. This extensive executive brief summarizes my rewarding internship with Ravi Advertising Company, where I got hands-on experience in advertising and public relations. A person with industrial experience has a significant advantage and is highly sought for. Learning from this course will provide you the tools to go out into the world and make a difference. This will equip them to pioneer novel ideas and concepts, thereby contributing to the advancement of the media industry. The study is about the learnings being an intern at the SUNO News. The essential components of producing news, such as reporting, editing, and scriptwriting, are all examined in detail. Each desk's assigned duties, as well as the level of supervision and daily briefings received, are detailed. In addition, the report will highlight the differences between classroom theory and real-world application. However, the following report comprises of a brief history of the entire company, the organization's vision, and the organization's hierarchical structure. Additional research possibilities include zeroing in on SUNO News specifically. The report covers all the sub-departments that report to this division. Newsroom is where most of the action takes place. The Departments include: • Division of Sub-Editing • Department of Non-Linear Editing • Copywriting Department • Reporting Department • Technical Department Everything I did during my internship is documented here. Tasks I was assigned to complete are included in the research along with an analysis of the organization's positive and negative aspects. The graphics are also related to the duties preformed. Also mentioned and scrutinized critically are the organization's problems. Moreover, the whole experience at the firm is undoubtedly very much profitable, the practical and job oriented experience will provide boost to my advancing future. It took some time for me to become immersed in the News Room's work and for my reputation to grow and for me to adjust to my new environment. Within a short time, I was able to start taking classes at a number of different tables. Thanks to the encouragement of my coworkers and the guidance of my internship supervisor, I have had no trouble settling into my new surroundings.Item MARSHMALLOW(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2023) Amna Malik; FA20-BMC-043; Maam Ayesha Mirza; LHR TP 0000This report provides an overview of my six-week internship at Marshmallow advertising agency Lahore, a full-service advertising agency that collaborates with brands worldwide. During my internship, I worked in various departments to gain practical experience and understand their significance and interconnection. As I aspire to pursue a career in social media, I worked in the Social Media Management department to improve my writing skills and in the Art department to learn design skills using Photoshop. I also worked in the Digital department to learn about strategies for platforms like Facebook and Instagram, while the Client Service department taught me about their crucial role in advertising agencies. Additionally, I learned editing skills in the Production department and important industry terms in the Media department. I worked on various tasks, including creating an annual calendar for Master Bus Service, conducting research for documentaries and campaigns, and designing posts to persuade a new client, Nisa Beauty. It was a significant step towards developing practical experience, important skills, and involvement in the agency's operations.Item Discover Pakistan UHD TV(2023) Haris Javed; FA20-BMC-004; Ma’am Ayesha Mirza; LHR TP 0000This internship report is based on six week internship program that I completed in the News department of Discover Pakistan starting from 17-07-2023 to 31-08-2023. Apart from the theoretical studies, moving into the professional world was new to me but every hour spent at Discover Pakistan gives me a good amount of experience all the time. However, they were all useful for my career and will definitely help me in my future. This report includes how a News department at a media channel works, what are the activities performed by the department and what is the importance of it in the organization. Also it includes what were the tasks assigned to me during my internship and a description of knowledge and learning I grasped during the internship program. I worked in the News department and learnt almost all the aspects of a TV program such as News Writing, Reports, Reporting, Packages and news broadcasting and anchoring. The department is responsible for the recording of various programs that goes on air. It is considered the main department of the channel and continues working 24 hours a day. Initially during the first week, I was supposed to observe How to make a News in our own words and I myself provide lot of news tickers and reports for Pakistan Today. I noticed the responsibilities of employees during the news headlines and Voce overs of different programs from pre-production to post production. I interacted with many people during and after shoots to learn in detail about different aspects of a media program. In my views, I really like the smooth management of the channel and the motto of it which aims at projecting the positive image of the country and promoting tourism industry. In addition to it, my internship has been a great source of learning for me to understand the professional world. By conducting different programs of Current Issues at that time like Interview of Ahsan Ramzan Champion of Snooker, Different SWOTs of 14 August and programs analysis of the organization, I was able to identify what are the strengths and weaknesses of the channel and what could be recommended to bring in more opportunities and decline the threats to it. The experiences of script writing, news reading and anchoring that I gained from the internship provided me great skills and would be beneficial for me to become a great media professional. The amount of knowledge and the skills that I have obtained from Discover Pakistan along with the hands on training of the skills has provided me enough experience that I have been able to achieve the objectives I wanted to from it. Apart from the theoretical studies, stepping into the professional world was new to me but every hour spent at 7 news gave me amount of experience all the time. Anchoring at a news channel involves being the main presenter or host of a news program. Anchor delivers the news, conducts interviews, and provides analysis. It's a challenging and exciting role for me. This report includes how an anchoring department at a media channel works, what the activities performed by the department, and what is the importance of it in the organization. Also, it includes what were the tasks assigned to me during my internship. It is considered the leading department of the channel and continues working 24 hours a day. Initially, during the first 2-3 weeks, I was supposed to observe the working of professionals, As an intern in the anchoring department, you had the opportunity to observe and learn from experienced anchors how they perform their in front of camera their body gesture and movement. What’s the role of anchor, how they make questions on time when they are live, also how to play with prompter. I also observed the program recording of the morning show broadcasted from the channel and its production phase. I noticed the responsibilities of employees during the program broadcasting. And I found this process as very interesting and yet a very difficult aspect to work on. The professional world was unfamiliar outside of the classroom, but I gained invaluable experience at Discover Pakistan in every hour I spent there. All the same, they served me well professionally and will continue to do so in the future. Working in News allowed me to gain experience in virtually every facet of television production, including but not limited to news writing, reporting, packages, news broadcasting, and live reporting. The division's primary function is to produce broadcast-quality recordings of various shows. As the channel's primary division, it operates around the clock. In addition to the fundamentals of journalism, I am taught the ins and outs of video editing, camera operation, video lighting, news writing, ticker writing, headline writing, and reporting. I was responsible for seeing how a news story is put together and providing several news tickers and reports to Pakistan Today. During the news headlines and Voce overs of various shows, I observed several staff roles from pre- to post-production. During and after filming, I spoke with various experts who taught me about the numerous moving parts of media production. In addition, I've learned a lot about the working world thanks to my internship. Different SWOTs of 14 August and programs analysis of the organization allowed me to determine the channel's strengths and weaknesses and the steps that could be taken to increase the channel's potential for success and decrease any potential dangers it might face. The internship gave me invaluable experience in areas critical to being a successful media professional, including screenplay writing, news reading, and anchoring. In addition to the fundamentals of journalism, I am taught the ins and outs of video editing, camera operation, video lighting, news writing, ticker writing, headline writing, and reporting.
