(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2021) Ajwa Azam; CIIT/FA16-BAR-044/LHR; Dr. Usman Sami, Assistant Profesor; LHR TP 8670
Architecture is a phenomenon that makes our lives, and we make architecture. It has never been and can never be viewed in isolation as an individual entity but is seen through many lenses and overlaps with multiple layers of our existence and the nature that surrounds us. Architecture plays a vital role in deciphering these layers and integrates the hidden with the visible. This quality of architecture keeps the dimensions of time and space intact in our memory, the today and tomorrow. This project has a similar aim of identifying the concealed, lost character of the site and bring it to life, so people not only reminisce it but live the experience. The priority is to bring forth a program that sits well on the site, responding to both the internal and external attributes that will become the poetics of the space. The layer of Genius Loci brings forth the qualities and shortcomings allowing the enhancement of the site reviving its significance and eliminating the problems which are devaluing the inherited potential of the site.
