People use human computer interaction for shopping online. After a decade of internet rise, intelligent systems were designed to interact with humans to assist in online shopping. These bots were trained to start conversations the way humans talk and helped searching products via text inputs or voice messages. These intelligent systems were not good at searching products via images or based on certain features. Mostly it is a hectic process for customers to describe these types of features while hunting for products online. This brings us to the need of searching by image assistant or Visual Shop which recommends products based on the image provided by the user. Users can capture a snap from the device directly or take any pictures from social media to follow the latest trends and search for the same products on an e-commerce store. A recommendation system helps in online shopping based on the previous shopping or search history. It uses stats and knowledge retrieval methods to come up with best matching product suggestions. A decade ago, it was normally said that the world was a global village. As per today’s scenario, the situation has changed drastically. The global village has now been squeezed into the palms of our hands, and the whole world is just a touch away. In the business world, this shift to Internet-based technology has created a new status quo. The exponential rise of e-business has captivated the public's attention. If we talk about the ongoing pandemic (COVID-19) situation, People were bound to remain in their houses. All over the world, marketplaces were under lockdown closures. In this scenario, only e-commerce-based portals and markets experienced a boom to new heights. Amazon is one such example of this extravaganza. In Pakistan, consumers (customers and sellers) suffered a lot during the lockdown as there were very few reliable websites or trustworthy portals. Where they could buy and sell at a pleasant price without fear. Our project is e-commerce based, focusing on both end- customers and sellers. We have devised a virtual mall for mobiles and laptops (new and used as well). We have decided to build virtual floor levels with specifically identified shops.Item I-Guide - A novel machine learning approach for career consultancy(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus., 2022-11-20) Noman Khalid; FA18-BCS-215; Yella MehrozeThe project aims to provide career counselling to the intermediate students or the ones who just completed their intermediate studies. Career consultancy is usually considered a simple process where as the reality contradicts with it. To enter the world of work and selecting the professional career degrees requires a lot of effort. In this modern era, machines are replacing human work force, thereby enhancing the need for an automatic career consultancy guide. The old client-counselor relationship is getting outdated as this requires a lot of time, costing a lot of money and difficulty in finding the right an appropriate person. This project will help the ones who are struggling with the career choice in terms of their professional degree problem selection by considering their true potential, interests, financial status and a right match for their abilities. This will enable the students in particular the intermediate students to free themselves from the pressure their family put on them to select a career. This will be a guide for parents too as each and every possible attribute regarding the selection of degree program of their offspring and jobs based on their career. It will resolve the confusion of students who are stuck with multiple disciplines or subjects in their mind and cannot reach for proper counselling. This will be done by training a machine learning model on the real data of the students currently pursuing their career in hot domains at different institute. It will enable the students to check success estimates in a degree they will select based on the historic data of students of that particular field. After the successful training of machine learning model by applying algorithms, a website will be made. This website will allow the students to enter their interest, hobbies, current marks, current subject and all the similar attributes. The recent Corona pandemic was a challenge for people to maintain their fitness since they could not go out to fitness centers, trainers, nutritionists, and doctors. People also developed a lot of health issues due to a lack of suitable nutrition diet and physical exercises routine. The corona pandemic situation may be controlled now, but the strong impact it left has damaged the routines and schedules of a lot of people, making a balanced diet and exercise difficult for them. Experiencing all this around us, we have decided to make a Fitness Application to contribute to society and efficiently help people around the globe by providing them with factual nutrition and exercise schedules. Our application will consist of a user-friendly web-based interface for a smooth experience. The users will register their accounts and get logged in. They will encounter some input fields for the questionnaire, primarily responsible for collecting relevant information from the users. The datasets for nutrition and exercises with required features are collected and used with suitable machine learning algorithms for better results. A trained and tested model will take input parameters, and the goal could be weight gain, weight loss, or improving health issues. This model based on these parameters and the user’s goal will provide suitable diet/nutrition and exercise schedules. There is a dire need for such a platform which provides guidance to people in purchasing best available mobile phones according to their financial estimate. The single platform that lets the individuals compare all the phones in their prices, best sales, specification, brand details, reviews and comparisons with other brands. In this research paper we come up with such a vast project possessing all the above-mentioned qualities. It's a complete platform for everyone to find the best mobile phone available. This project consists of real-time and backend scraping so we will provide our user with the best price that he could find at that moment. It can also help us to identify the hot product at that moment. It’s the perfect opportunity to boost sales. It’s also an opportunity for us to generate revenue by using affiliate marketing. E-Commerce is an ever-growing industry which is becoming a daily life requirement. It is a fact that people love to shop and are continually looking for ways to not only get the products at a low price and get all the required qualities. Price comparison site is developed to compare the price of products from different e-commerce platform, which will help buyer in making decision to choose products that will save their time and money. Most people take advantage from different platforms to find the desired products that are also not heavy on their pockets. By using price comparison site buyer don’t have to go from one site to another searching for the cheapest price. Since most of the E-Commerce platforms have product with different rate. We are planning to give the users just that. This project, named PriceGetter.pk is the place where buyer can find great deals on the products. The buyers and the sellers can both benefit from PriceGetter.pk. The sellers get free advertisement of their products, and the buyers get products at the best prize, ease to search and filter desired products, and get personal satisfaction. Since most of the E-Commerce platforms in Pakistan are importing products from different countries therefore it results in increased price of the product due to shipment. The biggest facility for us is to connect globally with each other in mere seconds because of the internet and social media platforms provided to us. Now using the facility people have shifted their work, business and have created many new fields for entrepreneurship. A vacancy comes out of entertainment through these internet channels. As per everything is shifted towards online means people have also shifted their interests towards online entertainment which is proved by the past year of pandemic to us that how people tend to live their lives at the comfort of their home. Our app facilities provides the facility to local artists, concerts, sports channels to live stream and save their content with us so that people from our app could watch what’s trending and even share them on social media platforms. It has completely changed the way people create ease for themselves by figuring out solutions for their problems. The problem lies in the fact that the knowledge of the usage of such inventions is limited to extremely few individuals, leaving majority of them behind. Automobiles, being one of the most widely used technological inventions, have heavily influenced the lives of every single individual. The most alarming fact regarding those individuals who are contributing their presence on road traffic is that most of the are unaware of most of the traffic rules. Amount of people who are actually aware of traffic rules are extremely less. Then there are those people as well who are driving since many years but their awareness of traffic rules is also limited to a few basic rules. Outcome of such blunder is a horrible traffic accident which can result into sudden deaths or even lifetime paralysis in some cases. People are extremely lazy to read long documentations of several traffic rules. As human behaviour on roads is one of the most important factors of ensuring safety, we’re developing a 3D android game on Unity Engine to overcome this issue. This is a game developed to teach traffic rules to our target audience in an interesting gamified manner. Each and every individual who doesn’t have that much background knowledge about traffic but he’s keen to learn, is our target audience. Moreover, we also have a specific segment in our game in which we would teach those specific rules which pedestrians have to follow. In this way, the likelihood of traffic accidents would be decreased up to some extent by teaching the required knowledge about traffic rules to the people.Item BLOOD DONATION GROUP(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus., 2022-11-20) Usama Waqas; FA18-BCS-015; ABDUL KARIM SHAHIDBlood is an essential component of the human body that delivers nutrients and oxygen to all body cells; we chose the blood bank as the hub for getting blood because of its significance. The system we are designing will be developed in such a way that both web-based and android based platforms are being used. Both platforms will be used by blood bank system administrators to update available bloodstock information, manage blood requests and donor requests, manage blood organization signup, hold blood donation campaigns and manage funds/donation. The procedure of maintaining the blood bags that are collected at blood donation events requires careful and systematic attention. A lot of people lose their lives each day due to the fact that they don’t get blood on time from the blood bank. We live in an era where the internet is being frequently utilized for numerous motives in our daily life. We intend to increase the internet user to set up a connection among individuals who are in need of blood and to blood resource sufferers who serve mankind. We've built security into this system by requiring users to log in if they're already enrolled, or to register according to their form of viewpoint if they're new. The goal of this attempt is to keep and manipulate all blood donor records in extraordinary blood kinds in every blood bank. The need for blood must be expressed, and we will provide the donor's information. Whether they are available or not, donors can adjust their status. The designed system is an end-to-end solution for not only managing but also implementing and enforcing plans, as well as providing users with decision support. Our aim is to make blood-searching procedures quicker, easier, and more reliable. Admin will see the donor side and the available blood that the users have requested. The system will confirm that blood is made accessible to the patient in the event of a medical emergency.Item EmoWrite: A Sentiment Analysis-Based Thought to Text Conversion(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus., 2022-11-20) Anum Shahid; CIIT/FA18-RCS-021/LHR; Prof. Dr. Syed Asad HussainBrain-Computer Interface (BCI) helps in processing and extraction of useful information from the acquired brain signals having applications in diverse fields such as military, medicine, neuroscience and rehabilitation. BCI has been used to support paralytic patients having speech impediments with severe disabilities. To help paralytic patients communicate with ease, BCI based systems convert silent speech (thoughts) to text. However, these systems have an inconvenient graphical user interface, high latency, limited typing speed and low accuracy rate. Apart from these limitations, the existing systems do not incorporate the inevitable factor of patient's emotional states and sentiment analysis. The proposed system “EmoWrite” implements a dynamic keyboard with contextualized appearance of characters reducing the traversal time and improving the utilization of the screen space. A novel scheme is proposed to integrate the prediction of contextualized words with the mental state by addressing the challenge of accurate class detection, as there is a slight difference between emotional classes i.e. happiness, sadness, anger and calm. EmoWrite effectively lists the helping verbs related to previously typed text within an acceptable time to improve the typing speed. The display of the character set on the keyboard, prediction of words and articles are personalized for each individual and evolve with time. The proposed system also helps a medical practitioner in the record-keeping of emotional states to keep track of a patient’s progress and plan treatment accordingly. The proposed system has been evaluated and compared with the existing systems for accuracy, convenience, sentimental analysis and typing speed. This system results in 6.58 Words Per Minute (WPM) and 31.92 Characters Per Minute (CPM) which accuracy of 90.36%. EmoWrite also shows remarkable results when it comes to the integration of emotional states. Its Information Transfer Rate (ITR) is also high as compared to other systems i.e. 87.55 bits/min with commands and 72.52 bits/min for letters. Furthermore, it provides ease to use interface with a latency of 2.685 sec.
