Downfall of the Textile Industry of Pakistan (Problems and Prospects)
(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2020) Fahad Ali; FA17-BBA-210; Tayyba Noreen; LHR TP 6648
Pakistan's textile industry was accounted for over 60% of the country's exports in 1990. However, the industry is now declining at its growing percentage. The main causes for this drop is due to the worldwide collapse, interior safety issues and large manufacture costs. The devaluation of the Pakistani rupee, such as the fuel calamity, has expressively enlarged the cost of imported inputs. High inflation rates and high financing costs have a serious effect on the development of the textile industry. If the government focuses on both private and public sectors, Pakistan's textile industry could be on the road to success. In addition, the government must fund the textile industry. Buying new machines or improving the quality of existing machines. That is to increase the productivity of new machines, the cost on (R&D) increases and existing machines and offering better schemes and plans for private sectors.

US DENIM MANAGING RAFHAN MAIZE AS VENDOR
(2020) Muhammad Ali Kamal; FA17-BBA-214; Tayyba Noreen; LHR TP 6743
This project report is based on the industrial visit and interviews with senior management, mid-level management, technical staff and workers to extract as much information needed to cover an internship project report which was suggested from the university on the exchange of normal internship report, due to global pandemic situation of COVID 19. To start this internship project report, reason/title approved from the advisor is, ‘US Denim managing RAFHAN MAIZE as vendor.’ in this report detail discussion has mentioned about US Denim mills supply chain networking, operations and processing, their dealing with suppliers, their vendor selection criteria, their vendor development criteria. This information helped us to learn the practical industry situation and comparing that with the theoretical knowledge studied in this degree. US denim, a denim supplier and manufacturer of US group, is selected for this project study. I visited denim unit for collecting some information related to the project by taking interviews. I took interview of Omer Farooq Khan (DGM Inventory & Supply Chain) and Farooq Ahmed Warraich (DGM Procurement). This project has shown us the relationship between US denim and their suppliers. US Denim has capability to maintain relationships with their suppliers. As they are in the market from last many years, they are focused on sustainability and their core values are based on care and collaboration. They have also developed many of their suppliers including RAFHAN MAIZE despite knowing the trend of supplier development in the market, which is very low. US Denim’s vendor selection decision is based on proper vendor assessment, which is done not only on the basis of cost but also on the vendor performance history and the current quality of materials supplied.
