(Library Information Services COMSATS University Islamabad Lahore Campus, 2018-02-04) TAHIR MUKHTAR; FA16-RBA-008; LHR TP 6995
According to (katsarova 2015) organic food is growing worldwide despite of crises in economic conditions and its consumption is increased day by day in last years. In 2013 sale of organic foods is cross $66 billion across the globe. Organic food products are becoming popular. The main purpose of this study is to determine the benefits of organic food products on health. Due to the fact that little range of studies work the association of organic diet with health exists, different studies also are represented here so as to help within the development of the study style of the children’s intervention study which is able to be enforced later within the project (effect of organic diet on pesticides metabolites, association of pesticides and different environmental pollutants with health biomarkers, impact of short diet/exercise interventions on health biomarkers). Organic food is produced when we use the practices of organic agriculture in which no pesticides are used. It reduced the various cancer forms and other dieses that occurs when we consume conventional food. Organic produce plays dual role in society, first they respond to the organic demand of consumers and second they protect the environment and animal welfare or it also plays an important role in the development of rural areas. Organic food production makes it possible to maintain fertility of soil in long-term. Organic practices use less natural resources which make it more environment friendly. While this sector covers a small portion of market in Lahore Pakistan but it increases slightly with the time and its awareness level.
