The impact of Abusive Supervision on Employee Creativity: The Mediating Role of Job Stress
(Library Information Services COMSATS University Islamaabad Lahore Campus, 2020) Summyia Gull; FA18-RMS-013; Dr. Imran Shafique; LHR TP 6055
The present study investigates the procedure through which abusive supervision impacts employees’ creativity. Specifically, this study tests the relationship between abusive supervision employees’ creativity directly and through employees job stress as mediating mechanism. To establish the relationship of the variables, conservation of resource theory is used in this study. Abusive supervision could similarly be seen as harmful type of relationship conflict, which has seen as unfavorable to the creativity of employees (Bai et al, 2016). Most of the time abusive supervision effects mental health of the employees also. It is found that stress always drive from the pressure that managers put on employee. But some pressure is good for the employees so that they can perform well in the organization but forcing them too hard can cause serious issues, such as bad performance, low creativity and high turnover (HBR, 2019). We have tested these hypotheses on data collected from 180 private school teachers through questionnaire in Lahore. The findings support our hypotheses and mediation model. To analyze the relationship convenience sampling technique is used. Confirmatory factor analysis used for reliability and convergent validity and discriminant validity test used for validity then correlation and regression analysis.
