Item EFFECTS OF COVID-19 ON E-COMMERCE(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2020) Muhammad Usman Zafar; SP17-BBA-099; Shamyla Anwar; LHR TP 6657The world changed forever when the first corona virus case was detected on 17th November, 2019 in Wuhan, Hubei, China. Corona virus disease (Covid19) can be transfer from one person to another and viral infection caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome. It is revealed by experts that Sars- Cov-2 is related to severe acute respiratory syndrome-like bat viruses and hence bats could be a reason of this disease. The source of origin and transfer to humans is not known but quick human to human transfer is hugely reported. The biggest problem with this disease is that no clinically proven drugs or vaccine is available and it has causes many deaths worldwide. The corona virus has spread across the world with over 54 million cases and over 1 million deaths worldwide. The pandemic has presented tough choices for governments of the world, local communities, schools, colleges, health care systems, families and businesses. The biggest question posed before everyone is the choice to make between lives or livelihoods. Enforcing forced lock downs to prevent the spread of the disease was the initial solution presented by the government worldwide but this had severe economic consequences. Not only were they unsuccessful in preventing the spread of the disease but they also destroyed livelihoods and savings of people across the world (World Bank, 2020).Item Impact of Covid19 on Retail Industry of Pakistan(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2020) M. As we have seen that coronavirus is spreading around the globe and impacts the customers with some significant changes when it comes to the customer behavior, product demand, factory, logistics service availability, retail store. The growth estimated in the year of 2020 and the actual was halved. Those were hit the hardest and the consequences was the worse for them to get back. On the other side technology was the impact to create on the customers to reflect the into digital transformation efforts. Cost cutting strategy was adopted as rather on spending the stores move up to latest technology by reducing the remodels and openings of new stores. Competition is so immense that the companies helped to make it big by throwing offerings in the market and lessen the bad impact of online shopping and enters consumers into a new different world of market. New contracts being designed and implemented with different courier companies, they grown up as well when it comes to see the new entrants in the courier industry. Pakistan has a quite worthwhile and well-known banking industry. I learned so many things at Silk bank and observed different tasks. I would like to acknowledge my internship advisor, Ms. Shamyla Anwar for her never ending support and efforts. She put a great effort to make me work in a best possible way. Whenever I felt stuck, her support and encouragement always helped me to boost up. I found her very helpful while working in a banking sector and preparing the report.
