Item The Impact of Applied Behavior Analysis on Basic Learning and Academic Skills in Children with Autism: An Intervention Study(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2025) Ubaid Ullah Saif; SP23-RCP-031/LHR; Dr. Shameem Fatima; LHR TP 9520Autism Spectrum Disorder is a neurodevelopment disorder that is mental and emotional mental health condition that affects the person’s ability to interact with others socially. Children with such condition exhibit interest in restricted repetitive behaviors. The study aimed to estimate and investigate the significant impact of intervention based on applied behavior analysis to improve learning and academic skills of Pakistani children with autism spectrum disorder. A purposive sampling technique was used to select a sample of 70 participants between the ages 6 to 12 years and diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Pre- and Post-assessment were made on Childhood Autism Rating Scale and Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills. The results obtained in post assessment showed improvement in basic learning and academic skills as compared to pre intervention level. It was found that the sample showed improvement in basic learning and academic skills at post intervention level. The study strongly supported the conclusion respecting the effectiveness of applied behavior analysis interventions concerning the academic and learning competencies of children with autism spectrum disorder. This research addresses a significant gap in the existing literature by focusing specifically on the basic learning and academic skills of Pakistani children with autism spectrum disorder
