(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2020) Hassan Toor; SP17-BBA-074; Waseem Anwar; LHR TP 6655
In the enriched literature of management sciences “leadership” is quite famous when comes to phenomena that can have adverse impacts on an organization if they are being ignored by the organization. Leadership plays a very critical and exquisite role in enhancing the organizational performance, tackling and managing the hard times effectively and efficiently, managing the overall productivity of the organization as a whole and last but not the least managing the employees or we can say the workforce of an organization making sure that each and every one is performing the tasks and they are performing it the way they are supposed to perform it. Throughout the century we the definition of leadership has evolved over the passage of time but to have a generic insight in order to have a better understanding of this phenomena we can define leadership simply as “ the art of influencing others towards achieving a certified and desired goal”. A leader in simple words provides a pathway to his followers that lead them towards the accomplishment of a common goal. In spite of the fact that the meaning of leadership states who activities sway, yet additionally what sort of impact is practiced and the result. A few scholars would restrict the meaning of authority to the activity of impact bringing about excited duty by devotees, instead of impassive consistence or hesitant acquiescence. These scholars contend that the utilization of leadership over remunerations and disciplines to control or pressure devotees isn't generally "driving" and may include the unscrupulous utilization of intensity.
