Item AnAnalysis of the Decline of Small Kariana Stores in Comparison to Giant Superstores(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2024) Muhammad Usama Majeed; CIIT/SP23-RBA-019/LHR; Nayyar Pervaiz Butt; LHR TP 9605The nature of retailing has continuously experienced an intense change that may put a lot of pressures on Kirana stores (local corner shops) to survive. Some of these challenges comprise namely inventory management, low utilization of technology, low scale economies, strained supplier relations, weak customer outreach, and threat from large competing retail firms. These are critical issues that this report aims at highlighting along with relevant solutions for addressing each successfully. Most of the Kirana stores are petty retail stores whereby they always struggle to manage their stock information and hence experience stock problems such as overstocking, understocking and many more: they also incur many costs due to excess hiring of workers to assist in counting the stock information. They have less market coverage due to the low use of digital platforms and cannot change the price because of their low supplier bargaining power. In addition, weak customer retention and no issue of economy of scale renders the operations of the outlets unable to challenge most modern efficient, established centralized retail chains. Others are implementing cheap solutions such as mobile-based POS terminals for real-time inventory and using social media for marketing and developing local partnerships that allow favorable supplier deals. Some of the things that show how customer experience and retention can be improved include; Laying down of more attractive and effective store formats and Consideration of introducing several loop of customer rewards to be given to customers. In these ways, the various strategic areas mentioned will empower small Kirana stores to upgrade their operational models, cut expenses, and optimize their profitability. It helps maintain them beneficial in the highly competitive retail market while closing the gap between standard retail pattern and contemporary client demand.Item Nishat textiles( Nishat Mills Ltd.)(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus., 2023-11-20) Saba Saif; SP20-BAF-023; Nayyar Pervaiz ButtThe summer internship is a golden opportunity for the students. I consider myself lucky to be working with Nishat textiles as an internee. The internship is basically a six weeks’ time period. It is not possible to penetrate deep into the organization within this short period and to study and observe all the processes that much deeply. My internship started from 21st July 2023 and ended on 31st August 2023. The following report is based on the experiences I have gained while working with different departments in Nishat and the information that I have collected. The products that the organization manufactures and in which sectors they are progressing are being discussed in detail. We will also look forward towards the marketing strategies that the organization is using also we will look for the strengths and weaknesses of the organization. We will conclude the paper by giving certain recommendations to the organization to overcome their weaknesses.Item Supply Chain Management Issues in Petal Engineering Private Limited(Library Information Services COMSATS University Islamaabad Lahore Campus, 2019) Junaid Safdar; SP18-RBA-010; LHR TP 5806; Nayyar Pervaiz ButtLead time started getting businesses attention and becoming crucial to heat ventilation and air conditioning industry. Due to high customization, low volume operations and make to order production approach it is problematic to manage the lead time in heat ventilation and air conditioning. Factors like repitation of process and shortage of skilled labor effects the lead time that directly affects the implementation of lean manufacturing. Research has been conducted with case study method to identify how the factors like import lead time, shortage of skilled labor and repitation of processes effect the implementation of lean manufacturing is petal engineering company and the findings from research helped to identify the reasons of these problems are classical supply chain management systems, unexpected returns of defected imported components like compressors etc., and due to lack of communication of company with clients. So, it is concluded these problems can be minimize by implementing enterprise resource planning system which will be helping in increasing the communication with clients and it will also help to resolve the supply chain problems. Also, the human resource should be hiring the employees with the relevant skillset.Item Supply Chain Management Issues in Petal Engineering Private Limited(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2020) Junaid Safdar; SP18-RBA-010; Nayyar Pervaiz Butt; LHR TP 5806Lead time started getting businesses attention and becoming crucial to heat ventilation and air conditioning industry. (The Mediating Role of Brand Image)(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2025) Syeda Zareen Zahra Rizvi; CIIT/SP24-RBA-017/LHR; Nayyar Pervaiz Butt; LHR TP 10095This study explored how Supply Chain Agility (SCA) and Supply Chain Resilience (SCR) influence Impulsive Buying Behavior (IBB) within e-commerce customers, keeping Brand Image (BI) as a mediating variable. The study is driven by the fast transition in digital purchasing patterns, where customers increasingly make unexpected purchase decisions prompted by product availability, order fulfillment, and supply chain responses. Questionnaire was used to collect data from 297 online customers in which cross-sectional research design was employed. Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) was used to interpret data, analyze the association of direct and mediating relationships among variables. The obtained results show that both SCA and SCR positively impact impulsive buying behavior. Moreover, the relationship between supply chain elements and impulsive buying behavior was mediated by BI. The study shows theoretical empirical evidence between supply chain management (SCM) components and IBB, supporting Stimulus Organism Response (SOR). For the Practical implication, managers should focus upon enhancing the efficiency of SCA and SCR to improve BI which will ultimately increase IBB within consumers. Limitations and future research directions are also discussed.
