Item Challenging Phallogocentrism; A Feminist Critical Discourse Analysis of Rafia Zakaria’s and Bina Shah’s Newspaper Articles(Library Information Servicers COMSATS University, Lahore Campus, 2021-11-25) Muhammad Waqas; CIIT/FA19-REL-011/LHR; Dr. Ali Ahmad; LHR TP 7458This study is done to explore the two dimensional feminist discourse (Lazar 2005, 2007) in newspaper articles by Rafia Zakaria and Bina Shah. The purpose of research paper is to destroy the stereotypes in a patriarchal society. How language can create gender strata in a society is one of the major themes of this thesis. Considering the following two dimensions “gender power relationships and gender as ideological structure and practice”, the research methodology applies linguistic and thematic analysis and utilizes Lazar’s (2005, 2007) FCDA model as data analyzing tool. This is a qualitative based research approach and it has descriptive research design. The selected articles are analyzed under Textual, Discursive and societal level of discourse given by Fairclough CDA model with feministic point of view suggested by Lazar. In other words these levels are descriptive, interpretative and explanatory stages of the Fairclough’s model. For purpose of ‘discourse’ different units of language from utterances to paragraphs are selected to highlight hidden ideologies and power structure embedded in the language. All of these units comprehensively tell us of women portrayal in our society. Women have no safe space in this society. They have to be more bound to the norms and values of the culture than those of men. The findings deduct that gender power relations are ideological and societal based. Gender and social practices are linguistic discursive. It tells that how misogyny is negative connotative term and how it justifies men are superior to women. Misogyny is an ideology and enhances right wing ideas which are unhealthy for any society. The research would enable readers to understand how misogyny works and how the women are marginalized through the discourse of the society. In this paper readers will find different phrases and terms which are building the ideological andgender power strata in the society.Item Linking Personal Demands and Personal Resources with Job Performance: Mediating Role of Basic Need Satisfaction and Work Engagement and Burnout(Library Information Services COMSATS University Islamaabad Lahore Campus, 2019) Muhammad Waqas; FA12-PMS-005; Dr. Zafar-Uz-Zaman Anjum; LHR TP 5938Purpose- This study aims to examine the function of personal demands and personal resources on job performance through the mediating effects of basic need satisfaction (BNS), work engagement, and burnout by integrating the self determination theory. This study postulates that personal demands and personal resources impact work engagement and burnout through basic need satisfaction (BNS) which further help to impact employee performance. Design/methodology/approach – By using judgmental sampling data was collected from sales employees and their supervisors of 8 insurance companies operating in Pakistan. These companies are listed on the security and exchange commission of Pakistan (SECP). Structural equation modeling technique was used to test the model of this study. Investigator used the phantom modeling technique to test the mediating effects. Findings – This study explains the indirect effects in two steps in order to handle the issues of parsimony. In the first step study reveals that personal demands and personal resources have an indirect effect on work engagement and burnout. Personal demands-resources have positive effect on the work engagement through basic need satisfaction but negative on the burnout through basic need satisfaction. In the second step serial mediation analysis suggests that BNS, and work engagement fully mediated the relationship of personal demands- resources and employees in-role performance. However, no mediation exists between personal demands-resources and employees’ in-role performance via BNS and burnout. Originality/value – This research is unique in a way that it has explored the effect of personal demands and personal resources on employees’ work engagement and burnout through BNS. Moreover, this research has found the serial mediation between personal demands-resources and employees’ in-role performance through BNS and work engagement and burnout.Item Linking Personal Demands and Personal Resources with Job Performance: Mediating Role of Basic Need Satisfaction and Work Engagement and Burnout(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2020) Muhammad Waqas; FA12-PMS-005; Dr. Zafar-Uz-Zaman Anjum; LHR TP 5938Purpose- This study aims to examine the function of personal demands and personal resources on job performance through the mediating effects of basic need satisfaction (BNS), work engagement, and burnout by integrating the self determination theory. The aim of the project is to develop an educational institute management system that is able to deliver access to anyone authorized anytime, anyplace on any device. We had studied many educational institute systems. They all are not providing full required features which we tried to cover in OCMS which are that OCMS has responsive layout which would make it able to use on all smart phones, tablet PC as well as typical desktop PC. In addition to that OCMS have separate logins for all users. Upload Assignments/Home works by students and teachers. OCMS will automatically detect plagiarism of student assignments. OCMS is generic school system which means that it is not fixed for one school. Anyone who can login to system can create school. In OCMS attendance of employee is also present that is missing in many school systems. We had choose schools for management software because they have large number of students and less computer friendly employees, which is a hurdle for school to maintain and access all the records of students online. So we will give user friendly interface in which little knowledge about computer is more than sufficient to interact with system. One of the best features of OCMS is the beautiful and non-confusing iconic interface for users. The main modules include in this system are:Item ST Attire`s (An AI Based E-commerce WebApp)(Library Information Services, CUI Lahore, 2022) Muhammad Waqas; SP18- BCS-108; Muhammad Junaid AnjumWe are living in a world which is digitizing rapidly.
