    Internship on Shahkam Industries (Private Limited).

    I completed my internship at a well-known company in the textile sector, Shahkam Industries (Private Limited). This industry is vertically integrated and has a good reputation for giving their interns the best hands-on experience they need to excel in their professional life. I chose this company because it will give my career a head starts and a path. It has various departments and units, and I chose the marketing department as I am a marketing student and want to excel in my career in this field. In this industry, there is a merchandising department which would have to deal with the customers directly. The major customers are from United State of America, United Kingdom and one local brand that is One Life. It has various departments such as merchandising, HR, finance, R and D, supply chain, quality testing lab, audit, etc. It has various units including yarn store, knitting unit, fabric dyeing, garment dyeing, yarn dyeing, printing, embroidery, stitching, cutting, packing etc. The merchandising department has an overall hold on every unit as they have to generate orders according to the customer requirements. And that’s how the industry works. The objective of this report is to build awareness for the newcomers who want to kick start their career in the industrial sector. It would give them a set of guidelines and a clear vision on what to expect. On the other hand, this report targets businessmen / entrepreneurs who have a keen interest of investing or building a business in this industry. Also, it helped me encounter my own strengths, weaknesses, and my learning in these six to seven weeks of internship, a digital representation of my learning and hands on experience. This report provides an overview of the industry and this particular sector. It gives the vision, mission, history, organizational structure, policies, business process flow and organogram of the Shahkam Industries.
