It is the actual depiction of where the person belongs to. It is hard for a person belongs to. It is hard for a person to survive without knowing his roots. Well such is the cruel truth of the city "Lahore" which has lost its culture. The need to bring back the connection to the city’s root is being felt more prominently with each passing dayItem Designing A Vertical Suburbia(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2016) Mansoor Ahmed; FA11-BAR-013; Dr. Taimur Sarwar; LHR TP 4510Designing a Vertical Suburbia explores an urban design approach that reimagines traditional horizontal suburban development into compact, multi-level living environments. The concept focuses on increasing land efficiency while maintaining the social and environmental qualities of suburban life, such as community interaction, green spaces, and accessibility. By integrating residential, commercial, and recreational functions within vertical structures, the design aims to reduce urban sprawl, improve sustainability, and enhance walkability. This approach responds to rapid urbanization and the need for smart, space-efficient housing solutions in growing cities.Item Orphanage For Girls(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2018) Afia Mir; FA14-BAR-024; Mansoor Ahmed; LHR TP 5750Existing model of orphanages are based on static and strictly confined architectural language. This kind of space bounds a child inside the walls of the building. Their contact with outside community is minimum which prevents their growth and personality development among larger social context of the society. Orphan girls on the other hand face even more isolation from the outside world. The facilities provided mainly focus on providing basic necessities like food and shelter while completely neglecting the importance of sense of belonging, mental and emotional growth for a child. The orphanage acts as a prison for girls instead of a home keeping them from all the colors of life.
