(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus., 2020-11-20) Sohaib Ahmad; FA16-BCS-101; Mamoona Tasadduq; LHR TP 6126
Nowadays, e-learning and MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) are gaining a lot of attention. The students prefer to take online courses due to less cost, flexible learning schedule and instant view of lectures. It has been observed that many students drop out in the middle of the course. In literature, out of many reasons, lack of motivation is found to be a key factor that makes them leave the course. It is very important to keep students engaged so that they continue their learning process. A small prompt sometimes can re engage the user. By keeping in view, we have proposed an e-learning project combining all the useful, interesting, and motivating features of online learning through gaming process. It is an application of personalized based learning with gamification [1] strategies. Students take the quiz comprising of multiple stages and three levels (easy, medium, hard) within each stage. The difficulty level increase as student progress through different stages and they are rewarded with badges. All track records are saved thus motivating the student to complete more tasks. A discussion forum will be used for the discussion among students. They can also view their competitors and their standing among others using leader-board. Including some other gamified features, this quiz game will help students to improve their knowledge and get excellence in their domain. This project has the capability to master students on multiple subjects.

(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus., 2020-11-20) Muhammad Rabee bin Amir; FA16-BCS 161; Mamoona Tasadduq; LHR TP 6161
By the upsurge in the use of internet, huge amount of online data is accessible. Hence, there is a necessity to extract relevant data. In this project, we aim to develop a corpus which comprises of general opinion/comments given by the users on Twitter about Pak Army. For assurance that the annotation phase is error free, we will manually inspect all the comments for annotation. Therefore, we will develop 3 different annotators that will check its progress. Subsequently, we aim to apply tokenization and remove redundant words that do not affect the comments at all, then we apply N-gram model for characters and word cases. In character case 3-gram to 10-gram model will be used whereas in word case 1-gram to 3-gram model will be applied for comparison of each case. Machine learning algorithms will be used for analysis with the N-gram technique. Later, we will develop a graphical user interface (GUI) which have an input field where user can paste/type any piece of text, then we’ll send that text to our model which then return that either this comment is against Pak Army or not. Result will display in a popup modal or as a flash message below input field.
