    The Impact of Operations Dimensions on Retail (A case study of "Hyperstar")

    Retail sector has shown a significant growth for past few years in Pakistan and is further expected to grow. Pakistan is a developing business sector where the size of the retail market is assessed around $42 billion, growing quickly than the economy at a rate of 5.3% and expected growth rate is 8% in 2018.This growth also brings some issues and challenges, many of their issues are management related as managers working retail industry are unaware of the best practices. So this study aims to explore some of the prevailing processes in the retail industry and suggest some improvements. This study particularly focuses on the impact of operations dimensions (Volume, Variety, Variation, and Visibility) on the daily management of retail. Furthermore, the study also explores the various performance objectives that are imperative for retail management to develop competitiveness. For the purpose of the study, we have taken ‘Hyperstar’ as a case study. Because of the scale of operations are much bigger any other retail outlet. The method adopted to collect information was mainly through observations and interviews from the managers about the current practices and customers to judge their satisfaction level.
