(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2024) Mudassar Saleem Qadri; FA22-RBA-018; Mr. Nayyar Pervez Butt; LHR TP 9451
Aim of this writing is to discuss the current problems that supply-chains encounter from the perspective of information exchange, also the analyzing the complex supply chain structure and to assess how well block chain technology can handle these problems. The challenges of information coordination, the impact of product and service manifestation on information complexity, the impact of customer demand manifestation on information flow, the effects of outsourcing and globalization on information flow, and new emerging threats to supply chains by affecting information vulnerability are some of the issues we discuss in managing contemporary supply chains from an information sharing perspective. As many of the organizations are operating globally, hence their supply chain network become more complex, block chain will help organizations to manage this complex supply chain network. These problems are further divided into: problems with secrecy and trust, problems with information sharing across supply chain partners, problems with IT systems, and problems with data standards. A unified framework explaining the applicability of block-chain has been offered to address these problems, and it will direct businesses in building and putting forward prospective block chain solutions to deal with problems in information sharing among supply chain participants and complex supply chain network. This study intends to contribute to the growing body of research on block chain technology by examining block chain technology through the lens of supply chains' information-sharing component and complex supply chain structure.
