    Authentic Leadership and Pro Environmental Behavior of Employees: The Mediating Role of Environmental Awareness

    Authenticity in leadership is an imperative idea for organizations to attain competitive advantage, sustainence and economic development in these dynamic and challenging business arena for all kinds of organizations. Employess must have and adaptive and positive approach among themselves when it comes to their environmental behavior. This study has focused on the role of leaders and pro environmental behavior of employees with the mediating role of environmental awareness as previous studies have shown associations among these variables. This particular study is held in the Pharmaceutical organizations of Lahore. For this purpose, data was collected in the form of virtual questionnaires from executive and managerial level employees followed by census method. The nature of survey is purely quantitative. Researcher was able to get 250 responses which were useable and authentic. After careful application of statistical tools, results appeared to be in line with the supporting theories and proved that authentic leadership is positively associated with the pro environmental behavior of employees . Furthermore,regression analysis was also followed for Baron & Kenny (1986) steps in order to check the mediation effect in the study. The results of which showed partial mediation. Pragmatic significance, limitation of the study and research directions for furure were also mentioned.
