Smart Parking System (SPS) is used in automating the parking of vehicles. It provides the solution in which the step to run an efficient parking system. The rapid increase in the number of vehicles maximizes the challenges for parking authorities and due to which people find it is tough to locate an empty slot in a parking area, and it takes too much time as well, thus waiting time for the user will be minimized. The system includes various techniques, image processing is one of those which comprises various modules (car detection, number plate segmentation). After the image is taken, techniques such as image enhancement/partitioning and character identification will be used for getting the vehicle’s registration number. Then, details will be fetched on the smart ticket as well as stored in the database. The Internet of Things (IoT) uses sensors to collect data and provide users useful information. Machine Learning and Deep Learning algorithms will be used for the processing of data. By using Computer vision, the system will detect the vehicle and fetch its information (License Plate Number, Parking Slot Number, Entry Time) and if the car is not parked in an allocated slot, an alert will be generated. A web/mobile application will be used to book the slot online.
